Howard, Ryan. "Beyond Opt-Out." Monthly Review, vol. 68.2, pp. 35-44. Academic Search
Complete.
The Opt Out article discusses the difficulties of education at a lower level. This is not as
relevant as my other links because it does not cover college at all. All though it is useful
because it does evaluate the long term impact of the opt out movement on the students
and education system. This is a great opening to the impact of having a college education
vs not having one.

Kelly, Andrew P. "The Problem Is That Free College Isnt Free." The New York Times, p. 1,
www.nytimes.com/roomfordebate/2016/01/20/should-college-be-free/the-problem-isthat-free-college-isnt-free.
In this article the financial aspect of increasing funds for higher education on the populace as a
whole. It is true there would be a financial strain on the middle class if the education
funds were increased. This is unless of course if the cap was raised and the upper class
paid higher taxes. These are the main ideas discussed.

Kohli, Konali. "Why you can get a free college education in Germany but not in California." LA
Times, 29 Oct. 2015, www.latimes.com/local/education/community/la-me-edu-freecollege-education-in-germany-but-not-in-california-20151029-htmlstory.html. Accessed
21 Sept. 2016.
In this article, it is seen that there is a way for a government to provide free education to its
people. American students are even leaving the U.S to attend universities in other

countries without tuition. This is important to my argument because it shows it is

possible.

"Nation Accociation of Student Financial Aid Administrators." Nation Accociation of Student

Financial Aid Administrat, www.nasfaa.org/2016_presidential_candidates. Accessed 12
Sept. 2016.
This is a government run website that has information regarding the future of those receiving
financial aid. To help to this they have both presidential candidates education plans
posted on their website. This allows for someone visiting the website to be able to easily
compare the differences.

Nixon, Jay. "Real Progress and Perils on Inaction." Real Progress and Perils on Inaction, pp. 7581. Academic Search Complete.
This is another source that I used to show the long-term effect of lack of education. Many people
who do not receive an education past high school do not make as much as those who do
annually.

Sanders, Bernie. "Make College Free for All." Washington Post, Video ed. Video
This is a video of Bernie Sanders during an interview for the Washington Post in
which he discusses how financial aid should be available to all people. This is
related to my topic because Bernie Sanders is a strong supporter of
education. In this interview he explains some of his views on the topic.
There are thousands of young people who want to go to college and can not
go to college yet
