The average Target audience for a Thriller film are usually around the age
range from 16 onwards, however due to a vast range of subgenres within
thrillers it means that different sub genres can appeal to different people. In
terms of crime thrillers, the age range can be from 17 years onwards. Thriller
films apply to a range of audiences but actors in the films are mainly middle
aged, which seems to suggest that the main target audience that Thriller
films are trying to promote themselves to middle aged people.

The target audience must enjoy suspense, darker tones

and distressing scenes, for the average moviegoer or
younger person may be too disturbed by these films, for example Shutter
Island, particularly the end. Modern life and everyday environments will
reflect the daily lives of the target audience making the film influential and
comparable.

In terms of gender fans of Thriller doesnt hold any real barriers, both
male and female moviegoers enjoy thriller films as a whole. However in
subgenres within Thriller films, they can differ such as crime thrillers
which has been known to appeal to mainly middle aged women due to
the suspense, more story driven and emotional drama that possibly
wouldnt appeal to male audience. That said more fantasy/action based
Thrillers have predominantly larger male fans than female due to the
darker, more action packed style of these films.

My target audience will be those that enjoy a dark, crime thriller. They will enjoy it for the
everyday environments mixed with the sinister underworld of crime as well as the suspense
and tensions that are conveyed in the average thriller film.

I like the twists, like psychological thrillers that fill you with suspense. The film leads you one
way but then with a disturbing twist sends you into a different direction completely. A good
one is Hide & Seek. They all have one thing in common, they are all psychological thrillers.
You are watching this film believing this character to be the genuine person and then it starts

to get a bit creepy and a bit violent and bam! This character is a complete psychopath. The
best ones are when they end with no conclusion so you're left wondering how it ended, will
end, will there be a sequel and the greatest films are always left like that no nonsense, no
sequel just a one off cliffhanger
