EVOLUTION SERIES XPAND ETSI

Software Defined Radio: 5 - 39 GHz

Data-Rate: 8 - 150 Mb/s
One wireless pipe for Ethernet- and E1-traffic. Flexible and scalable with built in X-connect.
A variety of configuration options from single ended terminals to traffic nodes with four
wireless directions. Managed by a standard web-browser, Nera's NetMaster or a general
SNMP manager. One platform for all needs simplifies logistics and reduces life cycle cost
dramatically

EVOLUTION SERIES XPAND ETSI

Software Defined Radio, 5 - 39 GHz, 8 - 150 Mb/s
INTERFACE UNIT (IFU)
The InterFace Unit (IFU) contains baseband, modem and user-interface functions
for E1 and Ethernet based services. The baseband part includes mapping of E1and/or Ethernet-traffic into Virtual Containers (VC), each with capacity of 2 Mb/s,
and X-Connect between these VCs. The IFU has two slots for Radio Interface Units
(RIUs) used to interface the OutDoor Unit (ODU). Two IFUs may be combined to
create a Traffic-Node with 4 ODUs connected (2 x HSB or 4 x Non-protected). The
user simply selects frequency and bandwidth and the embedded software selects
the appropriate modulation scheme and other modem settings. This way the
same IFU unit can be used in all configurations and all applications, minimizing
the need for spare parts and simplifying the logistics.
InterFace Units with limited flexibility is also available (see separate datasheet).
Systems using these units are over the air compatible with the flexible IFU described
above.
OUTDOOR UNIT (ODU)
The radio-units (ODU) are frequency and data-rate agile and configured locally or
remotely through the IFU-web-interface. The ODU is either integrated or remotely
connected to the antenna, both for non-protected and protected configurations.
A single coaxial cable is used to connect to the InDoor Unit up to 300 m apart.
