Tell students that they will be learning about vertebrates and invertebrates.
Tell students that a vertebrate has a backbone while an invertebrate does not.
Ask students if they are vertebrates or invertebrates.
Guided Experience (group working with the teacher)

Tell each partner to draw two columns and label them vertebrates and invertebrates. Tell them to write the
different types for each kind in their columns use their understanding.
Tell students that there are five main types of vertebrates: mammals, reptiles, fish, birds, and amphibians.
Write these on the board.
Give students examples of each type
Tell students that there are five main types of invertebrates: protozoa, echinoderms, annelids, mollusks, and
arthropods.
Give examples of each
Write on the board if needed.
Independent Experience (small group activity 1)
Each pair will tell the classroom what theyve write, the teacher will correct if something were incorrect.
Independent Experience(small group activity 2)
each group will have a basket include several animal pictures
they will get each time an animal then say it type and if it is vertebrate or invertebrate
Independent Experience(small group activity 3)

HA: use the same basket, Ask students to pick an invertebrate animal. Then let them talk about it.
MA: Ask students to find an invertebrate animal and write five facts about it.
LA: Tell them to draw a picture of the any invertebrate animal.

Give them short quiz on vertebrates and invertebrates.

Walking around while the students are working and see if they understood or not

Reflection
The preparation of the lesson and activities went well, because I brought all the
materials and organized well. If I will give this lesson again I may change the first activity
and make it easier for the students because they spend whole time to complete it.
The children learned the meaning of vertebrates and invertebrates. I knew that because
when I gave them the quiz, most of them answered correctly.
In the future I will show the students one example before giving them any activity to
make sure that they understood.
