International work experience: Set up new production facilities, improve and streamlined existing
processes, implementing employee training and performed quality inspections. *1991 - Venezuela:
overhauling electro-hydraulic hammers and presses. * 1996 through 2000 -Mexico: assisted setting
up new production facility, implemented employee training & safety meetings, established a
preventive maintenance program and continued to perform periodic quality inspections through
2007.
*1998-1999 - Germany: supervised the overhaul of electro - hydraulic hammers and presses, set-up a
preventive maintenance program, established a organized tool & spare parts magazine, updated
hammer & press set-up, implemented employee weekly training & safety meeting.
During my years as manager:
- Project leader of several forging plant expansions: designed layouts of new work sites, supervised
assembly and installation of additional equipment, designed and installed tooling for new equipment,
improved safety procedures & equipment, hired, trained and managed all employees. - Reduced
down time: by developing and implementing a comprehensive preventive maintenance program and
updating outdated repair procedures.
- Decreased tooling and spare parts cost:
through organization, increased accountability, consolidation of vendors as well as constant
re-negotiation of pricing.
- Drastically reduced the frequency of accidents: by implementing a comprehensive safety program
which included weekly safety and training meetings with all employees. Designed prominently
displayed posters illustrating the proper safety gear for each position. Frequent meetings and
consistent communication with the insurance representatives to ensure all aspects of safety where up
to date and covered.
- Improved on time delivery: through batching like items which decreased set up times, reduction
of quantity and frequency of remakes through the implementation of an extensive quality control
program, enforcement of ISO 9002, TUV, & PED rules and regulations through vigilant employee
training, increased accountability and constant communication with all employees.
- Reduction of raw material inventory deviation: through a top-down reorganization of the
receiving, storage & sipping procedures, increased accountability of supervisors, simplified positive
material identification, managing the implementation of a storage grid system and hand held
scanning system using bar coding.
