Candidates research, recommend, and implement policies, procedures, programs and funding

strategies to support implementation of the shared vision represented in the school, district, state,
and federal technology plans and guidelines. Funding strategies may include the development,
submission, and evaluation of formal grant proposals. (PSC 1.3/ISTE 1c)

Instruction Grant Proposal is that artifact that demonstrates research, recommendations,


and implementations of policies, procedures, and program funding. The artifact demonstrates a
strategic plan that was created identifying school needs, ways of improvement, organizations,
and funding amount and allocation. Executing the proposal took time and meaningful research. I
learned how to take the vision and the mission of the school, apply student needs, and identify
technology needs that will benefit the schools plan. I also learned how to specify the needs so
they are fully described and identified within the proposal plan. The process provided an
opportunity to devise a plan of action, predicted outcomes, and monitoring tools.
I feel that the grant proposal was well planned and executed; however, I noticed that the
implementation of teachers utilizing technology on the highest LOTI plan in my capstone project
was a major issues. With that being said, I noticed that on length of time section and instructional
objectives elaborately express that teachers will increase the usage of technology in the class
focusing on the 8th grade team. Using technology and integrating technology with in the class are
two separate things, so I know from my experiences this has been a major challenge. One thing I
would change in the process and description of the grant proposal would be step by step ways in
which I will conduct professional development prior to the integration of technology within the
classroom with teachers and parents. Another thing I would change about the grant proposal
would be to explicitly identify web 2.0 software that would be used and taught during
professional developments with teachers, parents, and students. According to ISTE essential
conditions All stakeholders follow a systematic plan aligned with a shared vision for school
effectiveness and student learning through the infusion of information and communication
technology (ICT) and digital learning resources (ISTE 2016). Following the ISTE essential
conditions it is imperative that all stakeholders are involved in the implementation of any
technology advancement. I feel it to be very important to create a plan of action in which all
stakeholders are involved in the process before, during, and after the grant proposal and action
plan.
The assignment provided steps involved in funding for school improvement tools. I was able
to create a plan of action and express a plan to my school administrator. The school administer
would like me to conduct and follow through on the plan. The idea of promoting technology
within your ladies has sparked a major interest with my principal. The integrating of technology
has been our districts focus and goals. The district has provided every classroom in the district
with interactive panels, audio enhancement, and cameras. The one to one devices would be a
great step in the direct in closing the gap between low performance schools and high
performance. Professional development at Ballard-Hudson Middle School has increased to
reflect the need in training of effective instructional technology practices. The proposal identified
needs at Ballard-Hudson; therefore, increased technology usage with only teachers at this point
has impacted student academic achievement and performance. Technology standards and focused

plans that not only was illustrated in the SIP plan but also in the grant proposal plan that I created
had significant impacts on the operation and focus of Ballard-Hudson Middle School.
The grant proposal had huge impacts considering it is a plan that is actually going into effect
at Ballard Hudson Middle School. The impacts can also be assessed as successful and positive.
The technology need within our building has identified a problem, yet the grant proposal has
posed as one of the many solutions to the technology disadvantage, weakness in the SIP plan,
and ineffectiveness of technology integration at Ballard Hudson Middle School. I feel the that the
instructional technology grant proposal has long lasting impacts as a strategical plan of action to
build the technology foundation at the school in which I teach.
