In this course, everything was new to me.

It was interesting to see the

UAEs Vision 2021 is in the process of implementing it where schools now
concentrate on innovation. I learned the three different management
styles of schools; bureaucratic, collegial and transformational leadership.
This helped me to notice what type of management the schools in the UAE
follow. I saw that the relation between the Ministry of Education and
schools follow the bureaucratic management model. I noticed that schools
in the UAE should follow the Ministry of Education goals which originally
from the countrys vision and EXPO 2020. Moreover, curriculums are set
by the MOE and schools have not power to change them. They should
make sure that students meet the outcomes in the MOEs long-term plan.
Also, mid-term exams are also from the Ministry and teachers cant
change them.
On the other hand, I saw that inside the school I went to the practicum,
the school principal likes to follow the collegial model. She wants teachers
to share ideas and take have role in the school. They are allowed to make
decisions of how they will organize for the special events. Here I noticed
that style of management. Moreover, this is achieving the UAEs vision
that they want them to innovate.
I gained experience from my MST to plan for the assembly. In addition,
when we went to the principal to interview her I had a clearer view of how
school managed the required role from teachers. I noticed how she faces
challenges and shes able to solve them. For example, the school budget
is limited because the Ministry put rules and regulations. She spent money
from her salary to improve the school environment and the quality of
education. For instance, she had a plan of how she evaluates teachers.
She doesnt have the same number of observation visits for all teachers. It
depends on their skills level.
Another thing I learned from this course is that teachers role shouldnt be
only in the classroom. Team work makes everybody involved and therefore
we will have more creativity which will lead to an excellent learning
atmosphere.

Finally, I am now clear about the UAE Vision so I can play a role to
implement that. I noticed if I am not hard worker I will not be able to break
the barriers and stay passive. Additionally, having a plan keeps the work
running. This will only be effective if there is continuous communication
with stakeholders. Another significant thing I notice that if I didnt keep
working duties will accumulate then it will be difficult to catch up,
especially that we have rapid development projects to improve the quality
of education.
At the end, overall it can be seen that innovation means creativity and
evolution which lead to happiness, attractive learning environment and we
will reach excellent education quality.
