Course Objective
to provide an introduction to information systems (IS) in general and electronic business (e-business)
applications in particular, and
to enable students to analyze the managerial issues related to information and e-business systems
in organizations and deploy these systems effectively.
Learning Approach
Instructors will facilitate learning through a combination of seminars, case studies, videos, and
discussions. Emphasis will be placed on mutual sharing of knowledge and experiences, using a
participative approach suited to managers.
Grading/Assessment
50%: Coursework
o 5%: Discussion/Participation/ In Class Assignment
o 5%: Interim Project Presentation
o 40%: Final Team Project: Industry Analysis
5%: Final Presentation
25%: Final Report
10%: Industry analysis video
50%: Examination (Two-hour examination)

Not all slides will be covered. Take note of the main concepts that we cover in each seminar. You
should understand and be able to apply the main concepts learnt.
This course emphasizes application of concepts rather than memory work!
