All of the materials used on the tness center will be green materials. They
are also re cerOed.

Maintenance

All products can be clean by using a sponge with water and soap. Manufactures
recommend to avoid using dusOng sprays and only use a soa bristle abachment
to avoid damaging materials.

Justification
Most of the materials selected for the desk and juice bar are
LEED. There will be a combination of drack and light colors. Retail
Space MW-2 and Juice Bar MW-4 are the codes that will be applied
on the floor plan.
Materials Maintenance
Material can be clean using a liquid non-abrasive
household cleaner. Avoid cleaners containing ammonia,
bleach, abrasives, or other hazardous/polluting compounds.
Always test in small inconspicuous area while using a new
cleaner to ensure compatibility.

Maintenance for carpets


Vacuuming
1.

Heavy and moderate traffic areas should be vacuumed daily. Vacuum light traffic areas regularly.

Spill removal
1.

Use warm water or a general-purpose detergent spotter.

Professional Carpet Cleaning


1.

Carpet and carpet tiles should be professionally cleaned when soil is barely noticeable to
eliminate soil bonding and to restore color brightness and vacuuming efficiency.

Recommendations
1.

Do not use rotary shampoo, bonnet/spin pad or cylindrical foam shampoo.

Justification
All of the flooring masteries selected for the health
fitness are LEED. There will be a combination of carpet,
vinyl, and hardwood floors. On heavy traffic areas we'll
use a darker color of flooring and on offices a lighter
color will be used. Retail Space PL-3, Juice Bar FL-2,
and Office CPT-1 are the codes that will be applied on
the floor plan.

Material maintenance
Just wipe with soapy water for daily upkeep. Surface
stains can be removed with a gentle cleansing scrub.
Avoid scouring pads and harsh chemicals that could
break down the bonds between the quartz and resins.

Bloomsburg Carpet combines American weaving craftsmanship with premium wool and
nylon fibers to create opulent carpet textures.

Most Bloomsburg products are certified Green Label Plus, NSF, and LEED.

At Bloomsburg Carpet they design, develop, and create products that avoid depletion of raw
material resources and prevent further environmental degradation.

Yes, Bloomsburg try to provide information to their clients about how important the
environment is to them.

published literature clearly indicated compliance of wood wallcovering with specified
requirements.

In accordance with the specification set forth in ASTM E84.98. "Standard Test Method
for Surface Burning Characteristics of Building Materials," both as to equipment and test
procedures. Test procedure is similar to UL-723, ANSI No. 2.5, NFPA No. 255 and UBC in
UBC1994 & 1997 UBC.

These products are more successful than others because they are high quality. Also, when you
buy these products you help the environment because they are LEED certified. They offer a variety of
options that I definitely considering to use them in a project. I also like the service that the company
offers to its clients. They are always available to help you and guide you throughout this process.

They are located in 211 S. Ritter Ave. Indianapolis, IN.

3. How does the supplier or manufacture work with the interior design profession?
Inhabit works in the interior design industry by offering interior materials for commercial and
residential.
4. What is the recommended installation procedure for the material? Are any special techniques or
tools, particular temperature, or other conditions required?
Tile may be installed over most structurally sound substrates, if they are clean, smooth, dry and free
of wax, soap scum and grease.

5. What are the products' performance specifications: fire ratings, acoustic ratings, wear ratings,
stain resistance, and antimicrobial protection? (McGowan 96)
Products are fire rating. They are Class B, flame spread Index: 60 smoke. If needed, a Class A rating can
be achieved with a fire proof primer.

Why do you think these products are more successful and preferred by clients over others?
I believe these products are more successful than others Because they are 100% recyclable and
environmental. The products have a very high quality that can last a lifecycle. I also like the service that
the company offers to its clients. They are always available to help you and guide you throughout this
process. I definitely will recommend these products for your project.

Reflecting on what I learned through this course, there


were many new materials I learned on interior design that will be
very helpful for future studies.
I really enjoyed choosing materials for the health fitness
center. It was very interesting putting all of the materials
information on the contact file. This is very helpful when
creating a proposal for a client. It also helps the designer see
which type of materials can potentially match other materials.
