1. Overview(1point)
OnNovember14th,2016IwasabletogotoClevelandElementarySchoolandteachmy
Footballlesson.TheclassthatItaughtwasmadeupof4thand5thgradeboysandgirls.
Thelessonspecificswerethrowingandcatchingafootball.Therequiredequipmentfor
thelessonwere20polyspots,10footballs,and12smallcones.Thelessonwastaughton
thegrassareaonthenorthsideofthetrees.Thepreviouslearnedskillsforthesestudents
werebasicthrowingpositions,basiccatching,andteamwork.

2. StudentLearningOutcomes(6points)
Cognitive:StudentswillbeabletorecitetheCOTStothrowingandcatchinga
football with 75% accuracy. Psychomotor: Students will be able to throw a
footballusingtheCOTS8/10timeshittingtheirtarget,andcatchafootball8/10
timesusingtheCOTS.FormorethanhalfoftheclassIwasabletosuccessfully
achievemySLOsaccordingtothevideoandtheevaluationdata.Theonlything
thatIwouldchangeisthelocationofthelesson.Therewasadancelessonbeing
taught at thesametime right next to mylessonand mystudents focus was
gearedtowardsthemusicmoreoftenthannot.
3. CreatingaQualityLearningEnvironment(5points)

a) Didyousuccessfullyaddressthe4criteriaofalearningexperience?Ifso,how?
Ifnot,whatdimensionyouneedtoworkon?Iwasabletosuccessfullygive
everyonethesameamountofpracticetimeandkeepeveryoneatafairlevelfor
themostpart.Someofmystudentsdidntliketheirpartnersotheydeliberately
didnotfollowdirectionsandthrewthefootballasfarastheycouldtomaketheir
partnergetit.IfIweretochangethatIthinkitwouldhavegonealittlemore
smooth.Allofmystudentsweregiventhesameopportunitiestopracticeata
highlevel,somewerejustofftaskandfocusedonthenearbylessonsandmusic.
Iwasabletogetthestudentstoprogresstheirskillswhentheywouldbackup
afterbeingsuccessfulwithacertainamountofcatchesandthrows.Again,to
makethisbetterIshouldhavemovedmylessontoadifferentlocationawayfrom
thedancelesson.

4. Strengths&WeaknessesinPedagogicalskillset(8points)
Usethefollowingquestionstohelpassessyourstrengths/weaknesses:
a) Wheredidyoumovetoduringyourteachingepisode?Didyouobservefromthe
perimeter?Didyoumovetoallareasoftheteachingspaceduringtheactivity?
Likeallmyotherlessons,ImovedaroundasmuchasIcould.ThistimeIreally
triedfocusingonpositioningmybodytowardstheentireclasswhilegivingone
ononefeedbackaswell.IprovidedtheCOTStotheentireclassandindividually
aswell.Iwouldfirstdemonstrateittotheclassbeforethetasktheninthemiddle
of the task, I paused every student and had them watch me demonstrate the
COTSagain.Igavequickandclearinstructiontobeabletogetasmuchactivity
inaswecould.ThefeedbackthatIwouldgivewouldmostlybeindividualby

goinguptoastudentIsawwashavingahardtimeandhelpthembyreinforcing
theCOTSandgettingthembackontask.FordemonstrationsIwouldmostlyuse
myselfbutalsosomestudentdemonstrationstoo.WhengivingtheCOTSatthe
beginningandtheendofthelessonIasktwostudentstohelpshowtheclassthe
COTStothrowingandcatchingafootball.AsfortheequipmentIwasableto
successfullydispersethefootballswithoutanychaos.Ihadonepersonfromeach
paircomeandgetafootballandreturntotheirpolyspotwhileholdingtheball.I
showedenthusiasmandtriedtokeepallmystudentsfocusedeventhoughthere
wasmusicgoingonanditwashardforthemtofocusonmegivinginstruction.
5. Recommendationsfornextsession(4points)
TheonlythingthatIcouldhavedonewasmovetheclasssothatthelessonnext
touswasntgoingtobedisruptive,butIdidntknowthattherewasgoingtobe
dancelessonandIwantedtostayonthegrassbecausefootballscansometimes
bouncealloverifnotcaught.
