Each component of health and wellness are vital to creating lasting and meaningful change in
your life and the lives of your coworkers or employees. Your emotional wellbeing is equal in it is
importance to your health habits. One remarkable way to check in with your emotional self is
through meditation - which can be done right in your office. Meditating is low-risk, completely
free, and a safe way of dealing with work stress (Manocha, Black, Sarris, & Stough, 2011).
Through mindful meditation techniques that we can teach at this meeting, you and the members
of your company will be able to enhance the emotional aspects of their health and reach a more
holistic level of wellness.
Gabriella - Physical
Getting yourself to change into a healthy lifestyle by getting physically active is going to be the
best way to kick start your healthy change. Just by going on a walk once a day can help you out
in a matter of time. I suggest having your workplace getting something together like either a
workout class such as Zumba class, Yoga or even cardio classes. This will be provided either in
the morning and or afternoon. This will help everyone be able to get each other in shape, and
they can do it together which also gets people going. During this meeting, we will get up and do
a Zumba class to get people an understanding of what a Zumba class is all about. It will be a fun
dancing/active class.
Courtney - Intellectual
When you are dedicated to a particular job, it can hard to remain interested and intellectually
stimulated. You show up day in and day out to do the same thing, and it can be taxing on your
mental well-being. According to Business Wire, 18.5% of people find that intellectual
stimulation is the most important aspect of their job (New Research, 2013). To put that in
perspective, reasons like money, location, job security, and work-life balance all scored lower
than intellectual stimulation. In our talks, we will discuss some ways to keep your interest up and
you on your best game. Whether it be connecting you to a podcast that supports your interests,
finding work-related training to expand your knowledge, or helping you get back into school, we
will get you inspired.
Hannah - Spiritual
Making healthy changes aid the spirit just as much as physical wellbeing. Our talks about eating
right and living a healthy lifestyle will help create a happy state of mind. Yoga and stretching are
about spiritual well-being. Stretching and yoga help a person to center the mind and make a
deeper connection to the mind and spirit. Sincere spiritual investigation is a journey to your
center (MacGregor, 2013) and stretching helps a person achieve that. At home stretching and
light yoga will be a practice that can help a person find a more spiritual self.
complementary fitness centers, among other perks. These initiatives are not exclusive to the likes
of Silicon Valley giantsmore than two-thirds of U.S. employers offer them as part of their
benefits packages (Valet, 2015). These programs also have benefits to promoting a positive
culture within their organizations and can assist in being a change agent for fighting chronic
diseases.
