Introduction
TOMS is a company that embraces PACE in every aspect. It is a company all about
giving back to the world while also making a quality product for everyone. Their mission
statement says At TOMS, we believe we can improve people's lives through business.
Founded in 2006, we understand it is imperative for our company to operate responsibly and
know that you want to buy from a company that works hard to integrate sustainable and
responsible practices into all that they do. Our efforts are focused on making sure that we operate
in a manner that's consistent with our brand values. We'll continue to travel this path and
communicate with you along the journey.
Paul Duffy: Professionalism
TOMS, although only a shoe producer, is a very professional company. They have
partnerships with many different companies and are also very active in the world of charity.
Along with what started the company, One for One, which was an idea founder Blake Mycoskie
came up with that says for every shoe they sell, a pair of shoes will be given to a child in need of
shoes. TOMS also has programs that help in need families attain water easier and also have a
program to help prevent bullying among many other things. They strive to make the world better.
Professionalism is the key to quality and efficiency and TOMS really embraces that and even
takes it to the next level. They create a quality shoe, very efficiently, and on top of that throw in

the fact that they produce twice the amount of shoes they sell just to give away the other half. If
thats not professionalism I dont know what is. Professionalism is also doing a job well. TOMS
makes quality products and does it well. Plus with the charity add on.
Sabrina Dues: Academics
TOMS is a brand based off the idea of one-to-one where when you purchase a product by
that company, they give something to a person in need. When someone purchases a TOMS High
Road Backpack, TOMS uses part of that money on their campaign The Gift of Kindness. The
main goal of this is to prevent bullying across America. The bully prevention has a hope of
working with the whole community, so students, school staff, and even parents. They have
created a text line which is available to students who are in a crisis situation. Whether the crisis is
bullying or a kid struggling emotionally the line is available whenever the student needs it. After
seeing that one in three kids suffer from bullying ages twelve through eighteen TOMS wanted to
create a way to give those affected emotional support. But The Gift of Kindness does not stop
there. The money for that campaign also goes to training people on how to handle the bullying
happening now. They are focusing their training on school communities as well as training crisis
counselors. By doing this it is helping the kids be successful in school which will help shape the
minds of our future all by just preventing bullying.
Cole Weigel: Character
The character of the company TOMS is very independent from others in the same market.
TOMS character as a company is one that is highly respected by any who know it. TOMS is all
about improving the lives of those less fortunate. Whenever you purchase shoes from TOMS,
they provide shoes, sight, water, safe birth, and bullying prevention services to people in need all

over the world. Not many other major businesses can say they do things for the community like
that. do a one for one program where one purchase of TOMS will help one person in need. They
have a four step process that goes purchase, plan, support, and give. Their website says they have
helped over 2 million children stay protected from hookworm using medications and TOMS
shoes. The website also claims a 42% increase in maternal health care program participation, an
increase in student enrollment of 1000, and identifying 100 children during shoe integrated
health screenings as needing malnutrition care in Malawi. TOMS states they are committed to
more than just giving, but making an impact beyond the one on one program. TOMS program
does a lot for people all over the world who need help. Naturally this level of achievement does a
lot to show their character and respect they warrant in the market from other companies.
Normally much companies have a lot they could being doing better to help society but really I
think TOMS has found the best way the can help the world and are doing a great job at it.
Drew Schramm: Engagement
TOMS is engaged in the community in many ways. One way TOMS is engaged in the
community is by their One for One program. This program offers shoes to those who are less
fortunate than we are. For every pair of TOMS shoes that are bought, TOMS gives a pair of
shoes to someone in need. This action has made TOMS known. Second, TOMS provides eye
care for those in need. TOMS provide people in need with a full exam by trained medical
professionals. Each patient then receives the treatment he or she needs. TOMS provides
treatments for three of the most common vision issues: prescription glasses, sight-saving surgery,
and medical treatment. They provide prescription glasses for eye problems including
nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatisms. They also provide sight-saving surgery for
conditions including cataracts and trachomas. Last, they provide medical treatment for problems

including inflammation and infection, eye trauma, and corneal ulcerations. Third, TOMS
provides safe drinking water to those in need. Each bag of TOMS Roasting Co. Coffee provides
140 liters of safe water, which equals about a weeks supply to a person in need. There are more
than 780 million people dont have access to safe water systems. With this being the harsh truth,
TOMS is working with Giving Partners that have expertise in water, sanitation and hygiene to
help create sustainable water systems in seven countries, from the same regions where their
coffee is produced. Last, TOMS uses the money that they make from their Bags to support their
Giving Partners in delivering the vital materials and training needed to help provide a safe birth
no matter what facility it is. Infection is one of the leading causes of death for mothers and
newborns worldwide. By providing clean birth conditions and skilled attendants, nearly half a
million lives can be saved. TOMS is a great company that provides many different services to the
community and those in need all around the world. They are on a mission to help the world
become a much safer place.
Conclusion
TOMS as a company puts their focus not just on their products, but also the social and
environmental impacts they have. The company has a list of accomplishments that are known by
their customers which include using sustainable and vegan materials, helping solve issues
globally, giving back to their community as well as investing in their employees.
