RESOURCE DESCRIPTION
Give a brief description of the technology/resource.
Weebly is a website that allows the user to create a personal website/portfolio. Choosing from a variety of templates
and designs, the user can build a site by adding text, images, headlines, pages, and links; all the while customizing
where each page is located on the toolbar. Pages can easily be moved and edited and the site can be published for
free; upgrades and other features can be added to ones account through a purchase.

INTEGRATION IDEA - PORTFOLIOS

Justin Sand
How might you use this resource in a lesson plan to promote student-centered learning?
This site would be perfect for students to create their own personal portfolios. Using Weebly allows students to
become familiar with building a website, composing and organizing content, and sharing their site with others. By
giving them the option to customize their site and take charge of everything in regards to its construction and
maintenance, the students would have to take responsibility of their work, show some creativity and cohesiveness,
and comply with online etiquette.

VALUE-ADDED EXPLANATION

Based on the value-added rating scale above, how would you rate the technology integration you
described, using the selected resource?

Explain your rating based on the rubric indicators.

Weebly would enhance a lesson because the students themselves would be the ones initiating much of their own
learning. Students could always still create their own portfolios physically (the old-fashioned way!), so the lesson
might not be completed transformed per say; however, it still would be a great learning opportunity in terms of
website construction and technology integration. This site would obviously be used directly by the students though,
and it does meet many different standards for technology integration and use.
