Week One 3-5\10\16

It was an amazing start at the school. The staff was very friendly, and they
look like a family. However, they welcomed us and greeted us. They offered
for us a room and daily needs, such as tea. The environment that they
provided for us did encouraged me and motivated me each day. And I cant
wait till next week to go there. On the other hand, students were well
behaved, and they welcomed me in a nice way. Although, I had a problem
with the teaching hours that I have to do. It didnt match the requirements of
the teaching practice. So, I had two options, which is one of them taking two
MSTs or, the other one is to change my class. So, I had a little challenge, but I
solve it, by changing my class to a lower grade, and reorganize my schedule
for this semester. In addition, next week I might observe higher grade, and I
might change my lower grade to that higher one. Moreover, one of the most
wonderful chance that I have, that although I went through that issue, but I
taught grade one from the first week of our teaching practice, which was an
amazing idea. Because, students will know me and they will get used on me
if I didnt change the class. Lastly, both of the MSTs of the both grades were
very kind and sweet. They sat with me, they gave me the books of the two
grads, they talked with me about the curriculum and the units and where
theyre now, and we talked about the students and their performance.
For my research, what I planned for this week didnt went well because of the
issue that I have. I tried to, and Im taking notes from both of the classes.
But, I delayed it to the next week to be more clear and specific.

Week Two 9-12\10\16


All of the students were used to have another teacher to teach them,
everyone was happy. I started to teach all of the four sections, to introduce
me and to let them be used on me. However, my MST is a very helpful
teacher, where she was all the time there for me. On the other hand, I
attended a mother meeting. It was about discussing the new curriculum and
clarify it for the students mothers.
It was very difficult to recognize the students and calling them by names
because of the amount of them. Which leads to have a little of confusion and
a behavior management issues. So, I planned for a strategy which is, to give
each students a card that identify their names for me.

As I planned in week two that each students will have a card that identify
them to solve the behavior management issue and to recognize them. I did
distributed a cards and hanged it on their uniforms. I did asked them kindly
to wear it every day. Although, I designed the cards the way and the color
they love and choose. Which made them very excited to wear it each day.
In my teaching, I used differentiation in the learning style. Because I used
songs, answers orally, drawing in the air, the books tasks, etc. that leads to
encourage the students and motivate them. And it also delivered the
objectives to the students minds.

The big organization I did in week 4, is organizing a trip for my students for
week 5. So, we went to a trip, which was including under the innovation and
change course. But, I choose the place for a reason, which is for learning. So,
students enjoyed their time. And in the time, they learnt new things in an
interesting way.

In the last week, I really want to say that there is things that I learnt and
achieved in and the others not really, which I will mention below. However, it
was a spectacular experience to have and go though.
Things needs to develop:
The pace of the lesson
I tried many things, such as a timer. To time me and to time the students.
But, still there are some of issues happened that ruin the whole thing. In
instance, the nonunderstanding from the students, and parents meeting. So
to be honest, in this area I have to develop more a bit to be expert in it.

Thing learnt:
Voice intonation
For the first time ever, I used my intonation not only to shout or to teach.
But, to grab their attention, to encourage them, reinforce learning, and to
motivate them. Which was a good strategy to use in class to controls them.
Students responded very well, and they really liked it. Which leaded me to
use again and again. For example, to reinforce the learning and teach them a
new word, with the repetition, I changed my voice to an old women, mans
voice, a child voice, and a whisper. They were very curios to lesson and copy
my voice. Which really did effects on them positively. They even remember
the words for the next sessions.
Scaffolding
This is the first time I did apply a real scaffolding in my class. After my kind
MCT gave me her own time and sat with me, to explain it for me well and
how to apply it. This really help me in monitor the students well. And to know
whos on task and whos not.

Weekly plan
It is an easy thing to do, after sitting with my MST I did
organize one of the weekly plan with her.
Box of objects
I used a box that contains things related to the lesson.
Which was very useful for students in grade one. It
grabbed their attention, and motivated them to know whats inside and what
the lesson of today is.

For the next steps, I would like to work on pace of the lesson more, and to be
more dynamic. Which will help me a lot in teaching.
