EDUC 359
1. What was the biggest challenge you faced while planning the lesson?
One of the biggest challenges I faced while planning this lesson with my group
was how we were going to teach a class in a different language, especially without
using any English.
2. What was the biggest challenge you faced while teaching the lesson?
While teaching the lesson we struggled with figuring out what we wanted to say
and how we wanted to say it to the class in Spanish.
3. What did you rely on the most during your instruction to overcome these challenges?
During the instruction I definitely relied on the power point presentation that we
prepared. Each slide was a color and then said the name of that color in Spanish.
4. Was communication with your students easier or more difficult than you originally
thought?
It was more difficult than I had anticipated. I thought we would be able to fly
right through the lesson by each saying what we had prepared, when really we
needed to go into more detail about certain points we were trying to get across.
5. Do you feel you used co-teaching as effectively as you could have?
I fell that co-teaching is a really good way to teach a lesson. In the future I feel
that we can use co-teaching in a more effective way when given more time to
prepare a full lesson.
6. Do you feel you achieved your objective? How can you be sure you did or didnt?
I feel that we did achieve our objective by teaching the class the colors in Spanish.
We were able to see what the class had learned by using a formative assessment.
7. As a student of other groups lessons, what was the biggest challenge you faced?
I found it challenging to keep up with what the other groups were teaching. It was
easy to get lost in the lesson since each one was in a language that I do not speak.
AAs As a student, what did you rely on most to comprehend what was being taught?
As a student I relied on the visual aids that each group presented.
