Blue Christmas Healing Service

Monday, December 21 - 7:00 p.m.
Christmas is not a celebration for everyone.
For some it may be the first Christmas without a
loved one, some may have recently experienced
the loss of a job, and some may just struggle with
the holiday in general.
The constant refrain on the radio and
television, in shopping malls and churches, about
the happiness of the season, about getting
together with family and friends, reminds many
people of what they have lost or have never had.
The anguish of broken relationships, the
weariness of ill health, the insecurity of
unemployment, the pain of isolation - all these
can make us feel very alone in the midst of the
celebrating and spending. We need the space
and time to acknowledge our sadness and
concern; we need to know that we are not alone.
On the longest night of the year we will
gather for worship at 7:00 p.m. to share, pray,
hear scripture, light candles to remember and to
honor that which we may have lost, and to
acknowledge Gods presence in those struggles
of life.

Wishing you all Advent Blessings as we journey

toward the manger. May you be filled with peace and
joy as you celebrate the holidays with family and
friends.
Events for December include:
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD: Our heartfelt
thanks to all of you who filled an OCC box to make
