Filiipino travellers, why settle for visa-free countries when you can visit these
countries too? Travel visa process is just a breeze!

Applying for a travel visa is tedious, hassle and inconvenient, I know. Getting a
visa to Europe and America, for example, is the most difficult according to many
travellers. The ratio of those getting denied versus those who are permitted is very
high! But why limit yourself to the visa-free countries when you can venture far
out to these beautiful countries too? Heres a list of countries Filipinos can go to
with easy visa processing.
Disclaimer: I am not an agent nor affiliate of a travel agency. While
Ive done a lot of research to gather these information, it is best to
check the countries websites to make sure you get the latest updates.
I also cannot guarantee that your visa will be approved. Lastly, in these
tips, I assume that you will visit the countries as a tourist only.

Visa Before Arrival

1. Japan
Over the years, Japan has been gradually relaxing its visa requirements
to Filipinos. Entry to Japan has proven to be one of the easiest among
foreign countries based on the experiences of many travellers. You
simply have to prepare basic requirements to prove your identity,
residence in the Philippines, income, and prove that you will return to
your home country.
Note that all applications, except a few conditions, should go through
accredited visa processing agencies. The visa is free but youll have to

pay the agency for processing your documents. The waiting time is
seven days max, and if you applied for a single entry visa, you can stay
up to 15 days in Japan but you can request for up to ninety days. Youre
lucky if you get a multi-entry visa!
Its best to visit the Visa Section page of the Embassy of Japan in the
Philippines to know more about the specific details. Please be aware
that the rumours about Japan lifting its visa requirements for Filipinos is
false.
Must experience: Cherry blossoms in spring, snow in winter, Japanese
culture, onsens

2. Korea
Next to Japan, Korea is also one of the easier countries to have access to for
Pinoys. Youll only have to wait for five working days to claim your visa. The
requirements are also reasonable and you can get a 59-day visa for free! You can
also get a free multiple-entry visa if you applied for one within two years after
your last visit to Korea. Again, its best to visit the embassys website to get
updates. You can also check out our travel guide for first-time visitors of the
Land of the Morning Calm.

3. Taiwan
While most people love to go to Japan and Korea, only a few rave about
Taiwan. Requirements are pretty much similar to Japans and Koreas.
You also have to apply via their website, then submit the requirements
yourself at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office. And guess what?
You can get your visa after three working days! Just make sure that you
submitted the right requirements. To learn more about applying for a
Taiwanese visa and more about Taiwan, read this Filipino Travellers
Guide to Visiting Taiwan for the First Time

Must experience: Night markets, Elephant Mountain, themed cafes,
Beitous hot springs

4. India
As of 2015, the Visa on Arrival policy for Philippine passport holders is
no longer valid. However, processing a tourist visa for a 30-day stay is a
breeze with Indias e-Tourist Visa or eTV. You will have to process your
application through their website. The visa fee is USD 48 plus 2.5%
bank charge. Your visa will be sent to you via email which you will have
to print when you travel to India.
Must experience: Taj Mahal, Holy Ghats of Varanasi, Auli, Himachal

5. New Zealand
New Zealands visa application is relatively easier compared to other
non-Asian countries. Theres only a minimal fee, and you can stay for
up to 59 days. The requirements, much like any other visa application,
are quite similar. According to New Zealands website, it is optional to
show a roundtrip ticket, but it would be best to have one as theres a
big chance that you will be required to show a return ticket before
leaving the Philippines. New Zealands website is also very easy to
navigate. Expect to claim your visa after five working days.
Must experience: Hobbiton, Nga Haerenga, Stewart Island, Mackenzie
Basin

6. Georgia
Locals of Georgia do not call their country that. It is actually called Sakartvelo,
which used to be a Soviet republic. Visas to Georgia used to be available upon
arrival. Now, you have to apply for an e-VISA through their portal. As with any
foreign destination, make sure that you have a return ticket to prove that you
wont be staying for work in Georgia.
Must experience: Caucasus Mountains, local culture, architecture of the new
parliament building, churches

Visa upon arrival

7. Nepal
Visa application in Nepal, based on my own experience, was super
easy! You just have to be prepared with your US dollars. Upon entering
the airport, you will be directed to a machine where youll have to scan
your passport and enter some details. Be prepared with photocopies of
IDs and passports. I also remember filling out a form. No questions were
asked except for the number of days I will be staying in Nepal. After
that, I was all clear!
You can get a visa for up to 90 days. Just make sure that you have a
return ticket. I was held at the Philippine Immigration for 45 minutes
because I had to prove that I was going to Nepal as an earthquake relief
volunteer, and that I would be back in less than 90 days.
Must experience: Temples, Nepalese culture, Mount Everest

8. Maldives
Many of you might already know this, but just in case you didnt, you

country, its in Africa and is great for its beaches and marine life. You
can get a visa prior to arrival or upon arrival. Just make sure that you

have a return ticket and that you wont be staying for more than 30
days. Mozambique is good introductory destination to Africa.

Machilla Magic

Palau, like the Philippines, is an archipelagic country with over 500
islands. That means, it also has great islands for the sea-lovers and
beach bummers. You can stay in Palau for up to 30 days provided that
you have a return ticket. Its pretty much required if youre travelling in
a foreign country for the purpose of tourism.

Filipinos rejoice! Your Philippine passport can take you to many countries you
probably havent imagined travelling to without a visa.
https://www.tripzilla.com/visa-free-countries-filipinos-can-travel/26357
Applying for a travel visa is such a pain in the ass.
Its one of the great factors that discourage people, especially first time travellers,
from exploring the world. But hey, all Philippine passport holders (including
myself) must rejoice! Our passport will go a long way in letting us experience
different cultures and meet new people around the globe.

In fact, there are some really exciting countries that you probably didnt know you
can travel to without a visa, and Im here to share them with you. Excluded in this
list are countries in Southeast Asia (with the exception of one special one),
because you probably already know about those!

1. Myanmar
Although Myanmar is part of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations
(ASEAN), it wasnt long before it opened its doors to Filipino travellers. It was
only on January 2014 that Philippine passport holders may enter Myanmar
without a visa for up to 14 days.
So whats in store for you in Myanmar? A lot! From glistening pagodas and
heritage towns to picturesque landscapes and stunning beaches, Myanmar doesnt
run out of attractions for you to explore. You can easily make a weekend
escape to Myanmar or stay even longer to unravel the charms of this
mysterious country!

2. Mongolia
You are required to apply for a tourist visa to enter mainland China but not in
Mongolia! Can you believe it? Filipinos can enter the territory for up to 21 days
this is surprisingly longer than the period given to nationals of other neighbouring
countries. Take advantage of this privilege to explore the wonders of Mongolia
including the vast Gobi Desert, Great Bogd Mountain, Khorgo-Terkh National
Park, Xilamuren Grassland and more!

3. Israel
Israel is a dream destination for Catholic pilgrims because most of the places in
the Holy Scripture revolve around this country. Make use of your three-month
visa-free stay in Israel to learn about Jesus Christ and Christianity in general.
While youre there, drop by the lowest and saltiest point on Earth, the Dead Sea,
for a nice float. Be warned though that the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA)
advises every visitor to exercise extreme caution in Israel and strongly discourages
all travel to Gaza Strip as the situation in this region remains difficult and risky.

4. Fiji
Aside from countries in Asia, you can also enter some territories in the continent
of Oceania. Fiji is just one of them. With its pristine beaches, calm clear waters,
rich marine life, lovely islands and a tropical climate all-year-round, Fiji makes for
a great scuba diving and snorkelling getaway. Take your time and unwind to your
hearts content in Fiji because you can stay there for a period of up to four
months!

5. Vanuatu
Another destination you can visit in Oceania is Vanuatu. Like Fiji, Vanuatu is a
famous scuba diving destination because of its rich marine life, vibrant coral reefs
and wrecks such as the troopship SS President Coolidge that sunk during World
War II. Vanuatu was also the setting for the ninth season of reality TV series
Survivor. Why not live like a survivor for a month of visa-free stay in this
tropical paradise?

6. Morocco
From Oceania, lets go to Africa! While some African countries offer visa on
arrival, Morocco is completely visa free! Souks, camels, desert, beaches, luxury,
adventure what can you not love about Morocco? Have a taste of Europe,
Middle East and Africa in one destination!

7. Brazil
From Africa, lets explore South America! There are quite a number of South
American countries that welcome Filipinos without a visa and one of them is
Brazil. Yes, you can roam around Brazil for up to 90 days! How awesome is that?!
If you missed the 2014 World Cup, fret not, because the 2016 Summer Olympics
will be held in Rio de Janeiro. You still have ample time save and prepare for this
trip of a lifetime! Not a sports fan? Well, theres plenty to discover in Brazil but

some of its major highlights include the Amazon River, Iguazu Falls and Christ the
Redeemer statue atop Mt. Corcovado in Rio de Janeiro.

8. Peru
Another South American country you can visit is Peru! Endowed with a number of
best-preserved heritage sites, not to mention the famous Machu Picchu, Peru is
frequented by millions of visitors annually. Add yourself to the tourist statistics
and enjoy the different sights and sounds of Peru for up to 183 days! As with other
countries, Peru might give you a culture shock so before deciding to be there, arm
yourself with some basic travel information first.

9. Colombia
Dont be put off by Colombias history of drugs and crimes because the country is
now working its way to becoming a popular and tourist-friendly destination in
South America. Some of the best places to visit in Colombia include the Tayrona
National Park, the Amazon rainforest, Medellin, San Andrs and Providencia,
Bogota and Cartagena.

The survival instinct in me kicks in when I hear Ecuador and the Galapagos
Island! Explore its mighty jungles, laze on the pristine beaches or go island
hopping to see different species of lizards, iguanas, giant tortoises and other exotic
