Wikispaces is a website that a teacher can use to interact with his / her own students as well as an outlet for students to interact with each other.

INTEGRATION IDEA - PORTFOLIOS


How might you use this resource in a lesson plan to promote student-centered learning?
As a teacher, I would be able to interact with students either by providing them multimedia content on one specific
website or I could interact with them by providing formative assessment to any of their questions or projects that
they would collaborate on within the wiki.
Students would be able to collaborate with one another by working in groups to complete a project or participate in
a class discussion over any given topic. Students would be able to utilize this resource both in the classroom (depending if they have the provided technology) as well as at home.

Based on the value-added rating scale above, how would you rate the technology integration you described, using the selected resource?

I would rate Wikispaces as a 3 on the rating scale because this resource provides students with the opportunity to
interact, create, review, and learn with their peers at any given time. It also teaches students how to communicate
responsibly on the internet which is a skill that will become more and more relevant to them as they get older.
