Veganism, adopted throughout the decades, has become a popular lifestyle many people
are living by in modern times. The reasons mentioned in this article for being vegan is
stated from a moral standpoint, along with health reasons and risks some may face. There
are also environmental issues concerning the meat factories and their effect on air
pollution and the amount of valuable energy that could be used elsewhere. The
production of a pound of beef made is equivalent to 2500 gallons of water. Animals don't
have a voice to speak for their freedom, so they need people to stand up for them. This
article is relevant to my topic because it gives good information on veganism.

Veganism has been studied over the decades and shows that being vegan has shown a
spike in health. There are some statements that say veganism can cure a number of health
problems. There is not any way to gather scientifically reliable data from studying this
lifestyle. With all the health benefits there are, there are some concerns pertaining to the
diet itself. A few people may not get enough protein or B12 from eating a plant based
diet. Finding B12 in food is a concern for vegans because this vitamin does not have a big
role in plant food. B12 deficiency includes nerve damage, anemia and increased risk in
bone thinning and fracture. Also there can be problems with breastfeeding when there is a
lack of B12. This vitamin is found in meat, but fortunately for vegans this is also found in
soy products and tofu. This article is relevant to my topic because it shows the health
risks and benefits of veganism.

Veganism is when you do not consume any animal products at all. This means that
vegans cannot drink milk or eat meat or eggs, or use animal tested products. There is a
more intense version of this called raw veganism, which is similar to veganism, but you

cannot eat anything cooked above 48C.Things vegans can eat includes tofu, fruits and
vegetables, any grains, and drinks include juices and water. The veganism movement was
formed in England and expanded from vegetarianism. Becoming popular through the 70s
many people began excluding animal products from their diet. Veganism began to
become mainstream and is now viewed as an attached label to hipsters, which is a type
of social group in high school. This article is relevant to my topic because it explains
what veganism is in more depth.
