Old-new information flow

This writing technique is also a revising tool to help the writer create a stronger paper regardless
of the genre. The idea behind this skill is to ensure that the sentences following each other are
connected through the flawless information flow. Generally a sentence will state a claim or
introduce a new information and the sentence after that has to repeat a piece of information
from the previous one. The main point of the old-new information flow is that the repeated
information cannot go anywhere in the sentence but has a very well defined place, usually the
beginning of the sentence. Consequently the new information will go at the end part of the
sentence and will be repeated by the following sentence. If used correctly this technique helps
writing a clearer paper and the audience will enjoy the essay more. Even the hardest, most
complex ideas can be easily broken down and understood if they are revised with this
technique. Below I present the usage of this revising tool on my argument paper.

The way the new media contributed was the ability to show what the regimes is doing to
the people. The shutdown of protests and the general injustice were broadcasted to the general
public.

This two sentences are not well connected because there are two new information after the other.
The first sentence introduced a new information and the second introduced another one. The
revised sentence eliminates the problem by repeating the new information.
