Welcome
Congratulations on registering for the Dog Walker Certificate Course offered by the International
Association of Professions Career College (IAP Career College). You have taken an important step on
the road to achieving success in your career.
We thank you for putting your trust in us and choosing to earn your Dog Walker Certificate from IAP
Career College. This online certificate program may be unlike any course you have ever taken. As our
website says, this course is self-directed with suggested readings from the textbook. However, we are
here to help you every step of the way.
To get started, we recommend you read this entire letter because it contains helpful information to assist
you in successfully completing your certificate course.
Course Timing
This part-time certificate has a recommended completion date of 6 weeks. However, as indicated on the
IAP Career College website, if you want to work at a faster or slower pace than the recommended
schedule, you may choose to complete the course in as little as 4 weeks or as long as 12 weeks. The
choice is yours!
This flexible schedule allows you to fit the course around your life. For example, if something unexpected
comes up, you will have extra time to complete the course. Plus, as with all IAP Career College courses,
you may do your course work at times that are convenient for you.
Course Materials
All course materials are available through your account on the IAP Career College website at
www.iapcollege.com.

Here's how to access your course materials:


1. Go to www.iapcollege.com

2. Click on "My Account" at the top of the page. (Note: if you are not already logged into the website,
you will be taken to a page where you can log in with your user name (or your email address) and your
password. If you have forgotten your password, click "Lost Password?" to recover it.
3. Once logged in, you will be able to view your available downloads for your course.
4. Beside the course it will say "View". Click on "View" to see your downloads.
5. You can then open any of the downloads.
The course is self-directed and you are not required to hand in assignments. The review questions are for
your own purposes to help you with the weekly readings and to help prepare for the final exam once you
have completed the course.
If you need assistance accessing your course materials at any time before or during the course, you can
get help from an Academic Advisor by emailing iapcollege@fabjob.com.
Textbook
The textbook used in this course is the current e-book edition of the Guide to Become a Dog Walker. You
have already received an email with a link to download this textbook in e-book format. You can also
download your textbook using the instructions above under Course Materials. If you need assistance
downloading the textbook at any time, you can get help from an Academic Advisor by emailing
iapcollege@fabjob.com.
If you own an earlier edition of the textbook, you may refer to it for this course. However, we recommend
you also use the current e-book version because the page numbers for review questions and answers
correspond to the current e-book edition. As mentioned, the current e-book edition is provided at no
additional cost to you as part of your registration for this course.
Faculty Member
As a student in this course, you have access to a Faculty Member, and will be notified of your Faculty
Members name on the course start date. Although many students will find they can complete the course
without any assistance, if you wish, your Faculty Member is available to you if you have specific
questions about the career itself. You are not required to use your sessions but they are available in the
event you have career related questions. Your Faculty Member is also a valuable resource person who
you can ask for career advice and assistance with any of the topics covered in the book.
You may submit questions by email or advise your Faculty Member you would like to speak with them
by Skype (free online communication by video call, voice call or instant message through
www.skype.com) for up to one-half hour per week for six weeks

Evaluation/Final Exam

Once you have completed the course, you may write the final exam. The exam can be written any time
from 4 weeks after the course start date until 12 weeks after the course start date). When you are ready to
write your final exam, send an email to iapcollege@fabjob.com stating your name, which course you are
taking, and the start date of the course. We will then send you an email with a link and access code so you
can take the final exam online.
The Final Exam is a multiple choice exam which you will have up to one hour to complete. The exam is
worth 100% of your course grade. A passing mark to earn a certificate in the course is 60%. Your exam
will be graded and you will receive your mark immediately after submitting your test.
Your Certificate
When you have completed the course and received a passing mark (60% or more) on your final exam,
you will be emailed a link to download your personalized certificate. You may print and display your
downloadable certificate as you wish.
As an IAP Career College graduate, you will also be entitled to order printed certificates at
www.iapcollege.com/certificate. Printed certificates are personalized with your name on fine linen paper
and embossed with the gold seal of the International Association of Professions Career College. When
you order printed certificates they are mailed to you and you should receive them within 3 weeks after
they are mailed.
Cancellations and Withdrawals
For cancellations made at least 10 days before the start date you can receive a refund less a $10
administrative fee. After that, you can cancel or withdraw up to 7 days after the start date for a refund
less a $25 administrative fee. There are no refunds for later cancellations or withdrawals, but you are
welcome to find someone else to take the course in your place for no additional cost if you notify us
within 7 days after the official course start date.
Membership in IAPO International Association of Professional Dog Walkers
As a student of IAP Career College, you are eligible to become a member of IAPO International
Association of Professional Dog Walkers. Membership normally costs $39.97 per calendar year, however,
registration in this course entitles you to a 2016 membership for only $10.
