2. You are a staff nurse in a busy OB unit at your community hospital. You and several of
your colleagues have an idea that client anxiety is decreased in direct proportion to the
amount of teaching that they receive before delivery. Describe how you might use computer
applications to look at this issue and prepare a proposal for funding consideration. (10
points)
I would use computer applications to search more about anxiety, what it is, what we
can do and how to deal with it during anxiety attacks. Teaching the client is very important
and maybe developing an application that teaches the client their actual delivery before
actually doing it can relieve anxiety of the client. With this the client will have decreased
anxiety because of the overview of the delivery and knowing what will be done to her and
what will be the outcome. Funds may be considered to buy tablets which can show the
delivery in a picture or video that can distract the client with her anxiety before. If tablets
are unavailable due to lack of funds, simply printing pictures of the delivery can also work.
