A NOTE ON USB KEY PROTECTION
********************************************************************************
USB KEY DRIVER UPDATE:
---------------------Since V3.20.09, Saphir uses a new Actikey USB driver which is now compatible
with Windows XP Service Pack 2. If you are using a USB bitlock, you must run
"C:\Program Files\KAPPA\Protection\Actikey Driver USB\Actikey USB Driver.msi"
upon completion of this installation in order to setup or update the USB driver.
If you fail to do so, Kappa software will not run.
Beware that USB bitlocks are only supported by Windows 2000, and XP systems.
This installation comes with a "USB_local_protection_guidelines" PDF document
in "C:\Program Files\KAPPA\Protection\Actikey Driver USB" by default.

v3.20.10 - 29 April 2005
********************************************************************************
MODIFIED
- The matching of formation volume factors is now using only the "a" parameter
and ensures that B remains equal to 1 at standard conditions.
CORRECTED
- The "use intake" Model option was ineffective with Fluid type Oil and lift
curves (as opposed to internal correlation).
- Merge rates with gas condensate produced incorrect values.
- Saphir NL: problem with constant pressure contour with one phase compressible
fluids (real dead oil or real gas)
- Saphir NL: problem with non-Darcy for finite conductivity fractures with a nul
l
Skin.
- Saphir NL: multiphase and intake: the model rates were not properly used in th
e
pressure drop correction.
********************************************************************************
v3.20.09 - 17 December 2004
********************************************************************************
MODIFIED
- Disabled the estimation of the Forchheimer Beta coefficient using an equivalen
t
dS/dQ model with fractured wells.

CORRECTED
- Problems with the simultaneous activation of rate dependent skin and limited
entry in the numerical model.
- Numerical with dual porosity composite zones: the pore volume was (wrongly) af
fected
by the dual porosity parameters.
********************************************************************************
v3.20.08 - 23 July 2004
********************************************************************************
MODIFIED
- OLE interface with the official Diamant release, v1.10.03.
********************************************************************************
v3.20.07 - 2 July 2004
********************************************************************************
ADDED
- PAS Version 4.0 compatibility for loading and exporting.
********************************************************************************
v3.20.06 - 15 June 2004
********************************************************************************
CORRECTED
- When using a single phase gas equivalent for condensate, the total gas rate
"qgt" overestimated the condensate production component.
********************************************************************************
v3.20.05 - 17 May 2004
********************************************************************************
ADDED
- Saphir Numerical - Non-Darcy option: finite conductivity fractures have their
own beta coefficient, different from the reservoir value
- Add drag-and-drop facility from Diamant to individual Saphir documents
CORRECTED
- Crash when printing gradient plots
- Crash in interference 2-phase (Saphir
- Grid orientation angle not honored in
- Modification of some input parameters
taking place after the initialisation

numerical)
manual gridding
were not taken into account when it was
and before the creation of a model

IMPROVED
- On line Help
********************************************************************************
v3.20.04 - 12 Mars 2004
********************************************************************************
This release is the first v3.20 release of Saphir Numerical
ADDED - Saphir Numerical
- Real dead oil

Non-Darcy flow for real gas

2-phase water + oil
2-phase water + gas
Water and gas injectors

ADDED
- Wavelet: a stand alone program (wavelet.exe) is installed with Saphir, that
allows the application of wavelets to very large data files without ever
loading all of this data in memory. Please refer to the accompanying
documentation (wavelet.pdf) for more details.
- Two modification of the Cullender and Smith intake model in gas to account
for water presence (Peffer et al, Oden and Jennings)
- Even in Saphir (Advanced), we now use the real gas diffusion equation when
material balance correction is requested.
- Add in Settings (default no) the possibility to preview Saphir files in Diaman
t
- Simplified interface for treating condensate cases with the possibility to
calculate condensate rate from GOR
- Possibility to display the total equivalent rate of the reference phase
- Contour in the 2-D Map. Added possibility to set all segments to a given type
CORRECTED
- Error in the Lohrenz-Bray-Clark correlation for compositional gas viscosity
- Retrieving some Saphir v2.30 hydrogeology files sometimes failed
- When pressure fields were requested, a Voronoi Gas simulation with the materia
l
balance option on would not work properly. This is the reason why we have
decided to run the nonlinear real gas case even in the normal Saphir
- Some old files with Perrine would not be correctly read
- Some line aspects (dash, dotted, etc) were not correct on old Windows platform
s
- Intake with water alone did not work properly (Hydro)
IMPROVED
- Various improvements in the PAS load
- on-line Help
- Improved 3-D display, including lighting and defaults
- Coherence of inputs and warning messages when multi-phase rates are used
- Specialized line for bi-linear flow on loglog plot is now defined on dP'
- Specialized line for channel linear flow on loglog plot is now defined on dP'

First official 3.20 release.

A NOTE ON NETWORK LICENSE
********************************************************************************
FlexLM Network Update:
--------------------Version 3.20.01 uses FlexLM v9.0. If you use a Network FlexLM server with a prio
r
version of FlexLM, (eg Saphir 3.10) this server will have to be updated. You can
download from the Kappa web site the new Network Protection Installation.

Only if you do not have access to the web, you can simply replace the kappa.exe
daemon. This file is copied during the Saphir 3.20 client installation in a subdirectory called "FlexLM server" under "Kappa\Protection". The procedure is to
stop the existing daemon, replace the kappa.exe file, and restart the new daemon
.
