Create a QR Code Hunt

Type the information next to each prompt.
1. Choose a topic: Community Learning- Jobs/ Community Influences
Within the School
2. Identify the standards and write objectives:
Understands the key ideal of public or common good within the
context of the community (Second Grade Civics Standard 1.1.1.)
By the end of this lesson, students will understand the
roles that people in their school play in their local
community and how that organization is for the common
good
Understands individuals who have shaped history in the local
community (Second Grade Civics Standard 4.2.1.)
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to identify
important historical persons that helped to shape their
community, especially those involved in their school
3. Determine how you want students to proceed through the QR code
hunt and what they are to do with the information or what they are to
do at each clue. Describe your method here:
Students will walk around the school on a scavenger hunt for
QR codes that correspond to specific jobs within the school as
well as important persons represented by the school. (Ex: QR
code next to the lunch lady station in the cafeteria that links to a
video of their lunch lady talking about how her job is important to
the community & QR code next to statue of historical figure that
built their school that links to webpage about that person, etc.)
4. Write at least 10 questions or prompts (see table below):
I have chosen to organize my QR hunt by these questions so they
are in the chart below

5. Create a QR code for each question/prompt. Copy and paste the QR

code next to each question/prompt above. QR codes can link to text,
web sites, images, and more!
There are a lot of QR code generators. Some have colors, some allow many
options, some are just black and white, and some force you to download the
QR code.

This QR code generator allows you to copy and paste rather than download:

This one has lots of options and color: http://www.qrstuff.com/
6. Here is a QR code hunt generator: http://www.classtools.net/QR/ - it is
preferable for you to try the do it yourself QR code generators rather
than class tools. If you are struggling, then refer to class tools for help.
