    1 The 1900 Census shows an Emma Papka in the family of John and Sophia Papka. I cannot find
    an Emily Papka in Hobart Township in 1900. It is possible that either the census enumerator or
    the person who wrote these names on the photo confused Emma/Emily.

    2 The census lists her in the household of Louis and Hermina Manteuffel, describing her as
    Louis' niece, and spelling her surname as Went.
