Tonaquint Intermediate Vision Statement
Tonaquint Library strives to provide an environment with abundant opportunities and support
for students, faculty, and families to acquire the skills necessary to access diverse, multimedia
information which will allow them to be collaborative lifelong learners.
Tonaquint Intermediate Mission Statement
We will offer programs that encourage students to improve upon their reading, writing,
listening, and speaking skills. Continually facilitate lessons and support technology skill development
that will allow students and teachers to easily access to up to date digital media and resources. Provide
an environment where students and faculty can learn collaboratively.
Library Evaluation Plan
A. Student Literacy Skills as defined by Utah Core
Service/Learning Outcomes
LM Strand 1 Standard 1: Students will read to
pursue intellectual, personal, and emotional
growth for life
LM Strand 2 Standard 1: Students will locate
information to solve problems
LM Strand 2 Standard 2:
Students will be able to identify, evaluate, and
select sources.
LM Strand 2 Standard 3: Students will be able
to locate/access information.
LM Strand 2 Standard 4: Students will extract
information relevant to their research.
LM Strand 2 Standard 5: Students will organize,
synthesize, and present information.
LM Strand 2 Standard 6: Students will evaluate
their research.
B. Collection Development
Service/Learning Outcomes
Select a wide range of materials in a variety of
formats.
Update outdated or irrelevant materials
through weeding process by way of damage or
lack of circulation.
Additions to the media center are geared to
student/faculty interests.

Environment is welcoming and allows areas for
collaborative learning, silent reading, and
research.
Policies, mission, and vision statements reflect
school mission statement.
D. Technology

Adequate technology access for students in the
media center (available with minimal or no
wait).
Accommodate and integrate changing
technology. Introduce students and faculty to
new devices and digital media.
Update and maintain technology including
computers, projectors, copy and print
machines, laminators and other electronic
equipment.
