1. To what extent were learning outcomes appropriate and achievable to your students?
a. I felt like the learning outcomes were appropriate for my students, students
were able to understand what a good citizen was and ways one can be a good
citizen.
2. How effective were your instructional strategies? What changes would you make in
your instructional approaches if you taught this lesson again? Why?
a. I felt like my instructional strategies were very effective. I felt like I did a good
job of being very specific with my students and they were able to do the activity
I had for them.
3. Evaluate the effectiveness of your oral and written communication with students.
(Consider how well you communicated learning objectives, clarity of directions, use of standard English, quality of
questions and effectiveness of discussion techniques.)

a. I felt like I communicated my instructions to the students effectively. Most of the

students were able to complete the activity I had for the by following my
instructions. Students also did a good job participating on the carpet and
answering the questions I was asking.
4. Evaluate the level of student engagement in your lesson . (Consider how you presented the
content/skills, the activities and assignments for students, grouping of students, and structure and pacing of the
lesson.)

a. I felt like my students were engaged with the story I had created for them about
being a good citizen. They were talkative at the beginning of the lesson but
when I was reading them the story I felt like I was enthusiastic and they were
engaged.
5. How effectively did you use instructional materials, resources, and/or technology?
a. I feel like I effectively used the smart board and the document camera during
my lesson.
6. To what extent were your assessment strategies effective? What changes would you
make in your assessment approach if you taught this lesson again? Why?
a. I feel like through questioning throughout the lesson I was able to assess them
pretty well. Also the informal assessment at the end of the lesson of having

them create their own sentence of what a good citizen is was a good way for
me to see how well the students knew the material from my lesson.
7. To what extent was your feedback to students accurate, substantive, constructive,
specific, and/or timely?
a. I feel like my feedback to the students when they were asking me questions
was specific and timely and I was able to answer them in a positive manner. I
feel like I was effective walking around and observing the students and getting
them back on task and acknowledging their work.
8. To what extent did the classroom management and environment contribute to student
learning? (Consider your classroom procedures, your use of physical space, and the students conduct.)
a. I feel like this is an area where I have grown since my first lesson. I effectively
used the four questions that we implement in the classroom to get students
back on task in a positive manner. I also asked students to remember their
social contract if they were starting to yell out during the lesson. By using these
strategies students were able to get back on task in a timely manner.
9. Did you make modifications to your lesson plan during the lesson? If so, what were
they and what motivated these changes?
a. I did not make any last minute modifications to my lesson.
10. Was your Teaching Behavior Focus goal met?
a. I feel like my teaching behavior focus of aligning tasks with learning goals was
met fairly well. Most of them were able to write about what a good citizen does
and what a good citizen looks like. These were the learning goals that I wanted
the students to meet and throughout the lesson they were able to meet these
learning goals.
