PROCEDURE
Introduction- (10 min)

Take students quietly from the class to the gym and have them line up on the black line
Once kids are all quiet and listening in the gym, tell students to play freeze tag. (No screaming)
Give three students pinnies to be it and let them play.
Play this for a few mins so students can warm up and run around
Blow whistle so everyone freezes
Once everyone is frozen and listening, give them instruction

Body (18 min)

Everyone will line back up on the black line and grab a stick and a puck.
Once they grab a stick and a puck they will go stick handle in an open space in the gym for a few minutes.
After a short time blow the whistle again and give students instruction where half the gym will line up behind
one pylon, and the other half will line up behind the other pylon in the opposite corner of the gym.
Then explain to students they must go one at a time down the sideline stick handling and once they get to the
next pylon they can shoot into the net. Review how to properly shoot the puck by telling them to keep the
stick below their knees and use a sweeping motion. Then collect their puck and return to the back of the line.
Keep telling students when they can go next so it doesnt get congested
When there is 5-10 minutes left start a game where each student will go down and try and score a goal with
someone in net. Each student will go down and shoot on the net using the proper technique. After they shoot
they will be the next goalie and they have to try and stop the next person from scoring.
This way everyone gets a chance to shoot and play goalie. If some students do not want to play goalie, the
teacher can play goalie for the next student.

Conclusion (2 min)

Get everyone to freeze and stop what they are doing by blowing the whistle. Get all students to return their
sticks to the bin and pucks to the box.
Get all students to line up quietly and once they are all quiet they can proceed to get a drink and return to
class (lead the line to the door so I can see all students)
All students must be quiet in the hallway and if they are not, they must return to the class without a drink.

Assessment
Shooting on the net shows if they are learning how to shoot and hitting the net. After giving
instruction watch if students are doing the proper shooting form while doing the game
