Dear Mr. Hunt,
I am not only a special educator passionate about teaching exceptional
students, I am also a former English as a Second Language student who understands the importance of cultural reciprocity in the classroom. After researching several school districts and finding that your schools are diverse learning communities serving a large amount English Language Learners and exceptional students, I knew I was the perfect fit for Hope High School, which I am confident you will agree. Within my professional training and through personal experience, I learned several successful strategies to use when working with diverse populations that will make a difference for all students in my classroom. I strongly believe it is my responsibility as a teacher to use culturally responsible practice in my classroom in order to create an environment of respect and acceptance where all learners can freely express themselves. A place in which the behavioral and academic needs of students from diverse

cultural backgrounds and diverse learning needs are met.
Although this
could present a big challenge, considering the well-known fact that
classrooms in the United States are becoming more and more diverse, I believe it is extremely important to embrace the diversity of our students. I have received extensive training in working with learners with special needs, including students with disabilities, as well as training in sheltered English instruction

development.
have
also
worked
as
paraprofessional for a Special Education Science/Math AIM unit at a high
school in El Paso, Texas, where I had the opportunity to learn and work with a wide range of exceptional students for four years. I work well under pressure and I am confident working independently or as part of a group. This, and my passion towards special populations enable me to effectively serve a diverse learning community such as the one present at Hope High School. I thank you for taking the time to review my resume and I hope that you will look positively upon my application by recognizing my enthusiasm, my talents in the field of special education and my future potential. I welcome the opportunity to meet with you to discuss how my qualifications and my experience would benefit your academic program. If you have any questions, please contact me. I look forward to a favorable reply. Sincerely,
