Exercise 1
1. Identify a personal decision problem, or a decision problem relating to your work, which
involves multiple objectives (typical examples might be choosing a new house, a
computer system, a raw materials supplier, a software package or a car for your
companys representatives). Bring into consideration qualitative and quantitative
attributes.
2. Apply the simple multi-attribute rating technique (SMART) to the problem. Use the direct
rating technique, the bi-section method and the swing weighting technique. Apply the
weighted additive rule.
3. Discuss in detail the strengths and limitations of your analysis in the context of your
decision problem
