Budoors Teaching Beliefs

Introduction

I believe that a teacher should educate students and enrich them with knowledge that
will help them in their current and future life. I am certain that no one is perfect in this life, but
we can improve our weaknesses permanently and get over them to become strengths. A
teachers mission does not stop at teaching the curriculum content for students; their mission is
more than that. Teachers carry on their shoulders several of responsibilities for students and I
believe there are three main areas that teachers affect children: their Learning, their personality
and behavior, and their experience in the real life.

Planning for Better Learning

As I am a future teacher, I think that planning lessons creatively is the strategy for having
effective lesson (Jones, 1998). The actual teacher takes the objectives of units and lessons to
set up plans that meet the students' needs. During my previous teaching practice, I created
lessons based on my student numbers, grades, understandings, levels, abilities, strengths, and
weaknesses. It is effective, besides its important to have attractive and enjoyable classes, since
if they have good studying environment, it will encourage them to have fun when studying and
get as more as benefits and information that they can get for valuable learning.
I will keep developing my planning strategies even when I become a teacher in the field.
As a result, my skills will develop continuously and will have more motivated learning
environment (Nesari & Heidari, 2014). This can be by attending lectures, research for academic
theories about educational topics, join educational clubs, and workshops to improve my
professionalism as teacher. I have the confidence also that every student is unique, Im going
to set activities that will show their abilities. There are mental, physical and oral activities that
I can implement them for the students. It will be effective if I evaluate their response for each
activity by standard rubrics or checklists that covers my areas of my concerns. From estimating

their amount of skills, I will have a background in their abilities and, will have a vision on what
they needs to improve.

Improve behaviorism and personality

Because children spend most of their day at the school, I believe that they naturally
imitate any behavior around them (Sincero, 2012). I aim to build up their personalities
positively, by encouraging shy students to be confident. Also, I have the faith that learners
affected by their teachers behaviors when they are spending too much time with them (Ulug,
Ozden, & Eryilmaz, 2011). When children spend much time with me as their educator, it will
lead them to copy and stimulate my behaviors, styles, speaking, and other things. I am looking
forward to being a good model who shows them positive things from my attitude. Surely, by
the time those children will act similar to me, so I should be aware all the time and be such a
good role person for them.

Experience for Life

I am confident that any skills and information the students gain will be useful for their
life. I am going to work on that by creating lesson plans that relate to our society and their
interests, connect to their reality outside school. For instance, instead of bringing learners to
learn in lecture style how to grow a seed, I will take them outside and let them grow seeds in
real soil. That will facilitate learning based on their experience. I believe that this kind of
teaching, learning by doing (Ord, 2012) opens the doors to these learners to be explorers,
creators, and problem solvers.

Conclusion

As I'm a graduated teacher, I'm looking forward to become more aware of these three
aspects; planning for better learning, improve behaviorism and personality, and experience for
life. I have to learn about them to have the ability to affect students correctly in a professional

way. Im looking forward participating in building my country and society. I want to be that
teacher that children remember even after they grow up.
