Description
June 29, 2016 First release of this document for the NetWorker Module for MEDITECH
9.0.1 release.
Product description
The EMC NetWorker Module for MEDITECH 9.0.1 enables you to perform the following
tasks:
l
Schedule and manage local replicas of the MEDITECH volumes when you use the
product with the EMC VNX, EMC Symmetrix VMAX, and EMC XtremIO storage
systems
Schedule and manage local and remote replicas of the MEDITECH volumes when you
use the product with VNX, Symmetrix VMAX, and EMC VPLEX and XtremIO along
with the RecoverPoint storage system
Integrate the product with MEDITECH Backup Facility (MBF) to take hardware or array
point-in-time snapshots to back up the MEDITECH data to the NetWorker devices
Perform Integrated Serverless Backups (ISBs) of the LUNs that VNX, Symmetrix VMAX,
XtremIO, and RecoverPoint support to a NetWorker device, such as tape, Data
Domain, and disk
Perform in-frame point-in-time IDR backups by using the VNX's VNX-SNAP, Symmetrix
VMAX's VPSNAP, and XtremIO snapshot features
In this guide, the term XtremIO if not succeeded by the term with RecoverPoint, indicates
a native XtremIO array. This guide contains the terms XtremIO and XtermIO with
RecoverPoint according to the context.
Release Notes
The NetWorker Module for MEDITECH supports XtremIO to schedule and manage local
replicas of the MEDITECH volumes.
The NetWorker Module for MEDITECH supports redirected recoveries of ISB data.
Fixed problems
The following table lists the problems that have been fixed in this release of the
NetWorker Module for MEDITECH:
Table 2 Fixed problems
Defect
number
Description
240779
The NetWorker Module for MEDITECH backups fail even if one of the RecoverPoint
appliances that is added as a storage device in the GUI does not respond. The
backup failure is regardless of the RecoverPoint appliance's association with the
segments to be backed up.
246350
If you manually enable an image for a RecoverPoint consistency group, and perform
an ISB, the image is disabled because NetWorker Module for MEDITECH takes a
new snapshot, and enables the snapshot to copy the snapshot to media.
244742
When you perform a NetWorker Module for MEDITECH recovery, the Recover
Sessions panel on the Monitoring tab of the EMC NetWorker Administration
window does not display the recovery information. However, the recovery
succeeds.
