electronically submitted (on-line through internet) with in the due date and time
published in e-procurement portal.

BRIEF SCOPE OF WORK:

Providing polymer based high performance corrosion protection epoxy coating on
external surface of penstock pipe lines between Valve House to saddle no.20 for
Unit no.5 at Sharavathy Generating Station. The total area of penstock pipes to be
painted works out to 7488 Sq. mtr approximately. All painting surfaces should be
prepared by Sand Blasting to achieve SA 2/2.5. The external surface should be free
from abrasion, blisters, peeled off surface of the old paints rust, etc., The full surface
is to be cleaned until the parent metal is suitable for painting. Necessary scaffolding
shall be done by the contractor. After cleaned surface is approved two coats of high
performance high solid anticorrosive epoxy coating should be applied followed by a
coat of rust inhibitive compound, the thickness of the rust inhibitive compound
coating should be 40 to 50 microns. The total thickness of the coating after two
coats of epoxy painting should be 250 microns.

Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of Rs.1,36,750/- (Rupees One Lakh Thirty Six
Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty Only) and tender processing fee should be
paid online through e-Procurement portal using any of the payment modes like

Credit Card, Direct Debit, National Electronic Fund Transfer (NEFT), Over the
Counter (OTC). The tender processing fee is non-refundable.

THE BIDDERS SHALL

REQUIREMENTS:

PRE-QUALIFYING

a.

The Bidder shall be a regular Manufacturer/contractor/agency/firm and

should have successfully carried out epoxy painting work on penstocks of
Power house/reputed organization. In proof of the above, purchase
order/work order and work completion certificate copies issued from
competent authority should be furnished.

b.

The Bidders in the last five financial years should have achieved in at least
two financial years an average annual financial turnover of Rs.50.00 lakhs.
In proof Annual Report/turn over certificates duly certified by chartered
accountant shall be furnished.

c.

Bidder shall have Independent PF registration certificate obtained from PF

authorities, IT-PAN No, VAT No/Service Tax Registration certificates. In
proof, Independent PF registration, IT-PAN No, VAT No/ Service Tax
Registration certificates copies shall be furnished

d.

The bid of the bidders whose contracts have been terminated/ foreclosed in
KPCL or elsewhere during last 05 years and also those who do not meet the
above tender Pre-qualifying requirement will be rejected.

e.

The Bidders have to compulsorily visit work site ie. Sharavathy Generating
Station, Karnataka Power Corporation Ltd, Jogfalls - 577435, Shimoga Dist, Karnataka before quoting to have hands on information about site
conditions. The letter issued from Executive Engineer (Elect) Sharavathy-2
has to be enclosed as a proof of visiting the site.

After evaluation of Technical Bid and whose offer meet the PQR and technical
specification of the tender/bid in complete manner will be accepted and only such
bidders financial bid will be opened.

9.00

The bidder shall quote in Indian Rupees only. The contractor shall quote his rates
including all the applicable taxes as per the latest G.O.K/ G.O.I. orders

10.00 The bidders who have previously entered into an agreement for any works in
Karnataka Power Corporation Limited, Sharavathy sector and have not yet
completed the work even after completion of scheduled delivery and work
completion period, then such bidders bid will be rejected.
11.00 KPCL reserves the right to verify the authenticity of any or all the certificates
furnished by any or all the tenders from the authorities who have issued the same. If
it is found that any of the agency/agencies have furnished false certificates/
information, the tenders submitted by them are liable for rejection.
12.00 The quantity of materials and work mentioned/indicated in tender may vary
depending on the final requirement at the time of placing the work order
13.00 Right to accept or reject any or all the tenders without assigning any reason is
reserved by the undersigned.
