College Major: Nursing or Chemistry
Career: Pediatric Emergency Nurse or Physician

1. Yes, I believe my high school experience has modeled my academic record correctly. I
have almost completed high school with only a small amount of Bs, which still isn't bad.
Also, two of the areas I received a B in are Chorus and Art, which are classes that are not
my elective focus. The only other class I have ever passed with a B in is ACP Geometry.
Therefore, I feel like my grades accurately represent my effort I have put into high school
to prepare myself for college. A few times I have fallen away from focusing on school,
such as times when my parents got divorced or times I began to hang with the wrong
friends. However, in both of these times, I got back on track and made sure I always kept
my grades a main focus.
2. My proudest academic achievement is probably just passing all my honors or ACP
classes with As. Also, some classes that I felt would be too hard for me, I always ended
up putting my best effort through, and I always learned more than I expected. On the
other hand, my proudest personal accomplishment is winning homecoming queen this

year. I was already shocked I was even a part of the homecoming court, but I was
extremely thankful that my peers thought of me as someone to represent our class. I was
not expecting to become the queen, and when they announced my name, I wanted to cry.
I was so happy to know that my friends and teachers believed I was someone who
deserved that position.
3. I have worked at Brusters in Maryville since April of this year (2016). I have enjoyed
this job and have made countless friends. Surprisingly, I even met someone that I am
planning to room with in college. This job has taught me multiple things, from how to be
responsible for my own money, to adult qualities that I will keep forever. In my college
application essay, I was asked what I believed marked my transformation from childhood
to adulthood. I am certain that going through this job has definitely changed me into an
adult. I am so thankful for a place that I can call my second home, even though it
frustrates me every day.
4. At school, I definitely believe I have leadership qualities. This year, I was made a HOSA
officer- Media/Event Coordinator. This has made me feel like a leader in HOSA club.
Additionally, in all of my classes, I feel like a few students look up to me and always feel
as if they can come to me if they need help with any school assignments. On the other
hand, I have obviously experienced leadership qualities on my cheerleading team this
year. I took a year off from cheerleading my junior year, and I regret it more than
anything. This year, being one of the two seniors, I have put forth a lot of leadership
roles. Times such as keeping up with signs and other items has definitely made me a
leader. But not only that, I have felt like a leader to the girls on the team. They have
always seemed to be able to look up to me on the team, and they always feel like they

have me as a friend. Even through the struggles on the team, I feel like I am one of the
few girls that we can call a leader of the team.
5. As of now, I have only participated at Absury in my Clinicals class from community
service hours. I am at Asbury three days a week, for approximately 3 hours. While at
Asbury, I am working to get my CNA license. Therefore, I do CNA work while bonding
with the residents. However, this is not all the community service hours I hope to gain. I
am planning on doing many volunteer hours at the animal shelter. Also, I am signed up to
do a modeling show for a charity. Hopefully, there will many more occasions I can
receive community services hours in.
6. I believe I am extremely organized. This year, being senior year, I have not been as
organized as I have been in the past. However, I believe I do well with keeping up with
assignments and turning them in on their due date. This semester, I am taking an online
class through the University of Alabama for dual enrollment credit. This class, EN 101,
has taught me that college is not going to be easy, but staying organized and getting ahead
will definitely help. I do not have many hobbies; I spend the majority of my time at cheer
practice or at work. Other than that, I enjoy hanging with my friends. Friends are very
important to me because they are always there for you, especially if you find the right
ones.
7. I have participated in a couple of extracurricular activities over the years. I have been
apart of HOSA all four years. For one year, my sophomore year, I was in Student
Council. I have also cheered for three years in high school. I have really enjoyed every
club and team I have been a part of because I have found countless friends in each
organization.

8. Looking ahead, I plan to complete my first four years of college at Belmont. Afterwards,
I have two options. My first option would be to continue my education at nursing school
and become a pediatric emergency nurse. My second option, however, would be
completing all the school, internships, and training required to become a pediatric
emergency physician. I know my goal is to be able to work in a career that is located in
the emergency room at a pediatric hospital. However, becoming a physician requires
many years of school and training. If I choose this path, I plan on majoring in Chemistry
in college.
9. Staying focused while in high school is definitely challenging at times. At times, you can
allow yourself to become friends with the wrong type of people and they can lead you
down the wrong path, causing you to lose focus on grades and schoolwork. Luckily, I
found myself down this path and quickly realized it was not for me. I have always made
sure I put my school work first. If I have plans to go out with my friends or do something
fun, it is always important to me to make sure I finish my homework beforehand. This
also goes for work; I make sure all my assignments are complete before I go in for my
shift. It has been challenging to find a perfect balance of school, work, friends, and sports
without becoming too stressed.
10. One of the strengths I possess is my strive to learn. I love learning something new every
day, whether it is just a simple fact or an actual lesson. Also, I love math and participating
in any type of math class excites me. I feel like this will help me down the road in
college, especially if I plan to major in Chemistry. Aside from school, I believe another
strength I obtain is being able to be trusted and being a great friend. This year, I have
gained a few more friends than I have had most of high school, which is something that

does not normally happen. Because of this, I spend most of my time outside of work or
practice with these people. This helps me gain connections with my friends and this is
something I look forward to because I love it when someone can gain trust with me.
Therefore, I believe I am very trustworthy, understanding, and supportive. But, a
weakness I would like to work on strengthening is trying to complete assignments before
they are due. The majority of the time I can complete an assignment or paper a few days
before. However, I want to work on using all the time I can when things are presented
weeks before instead of just using a few days. I believe strengthening this now can better
me in college when multiple assignments are due at once. Additionally, outside of
academics, another weakness I need to strengthen is putting my happiness first. Recently,
I have tried to put my friends happiness before my own. But, this makes it very
complicated on my part because trying to please everyone at once is not the easiest task.
But to me, I feel as if my happiness comes from seeing other people, like my friends and
family, happy first. This is why I tend to put others first. However in some occasions, it
does not work out and my friend or family member is not happy. At this point, I began to
fall apart and wonder where I went wrong when in reality, if I would focus on myself
first, things would be better. In addition to that, I have a hard time admitting my
strengths. For instance, in this question I immediately began to think of all my
weaknesses instead of what I am strong in. This is something I would like to strengthen
myself in personally, such as admitting when I do something right or allowing my
strengths to overcome my weaknesses.

11. I am not extremely talented in any sports or musical areas. I do cheerlead, but I am not as
great as a cheerleader as I used to be and I do not plan on continuing this sport throughout
college.
12. National Honors Society, National Society of High School Scholars, HOSA club officerMedia/Event Coordinator, Homecoming Queen, Cheerleading captain. Recently, I had to
type a resume of activities/awards for my college application to Belmont. These are just a
few that I pulled off of the list. Writing the resume was super complicated, especially
trying to recall all the awards I have received over the years.
13. Competitive- I am competitive in all areas, either in class or in work. I like to be the best.
Determined- Going through the years of school necessary to be a physician will be
enduring, but I am determined to finish.
Independent- This year, I have been very independent on the choice I make for the
future, such as planning for college or how to save/spend my money.
Strong- I believe I am a strong person, especially after everything I have gone
through in my life.
Responsible- Being responsible for my actions, grades, or anything is very important
