INSTALLATION OP BRIPOI I AND ERIFOI II


Find a good locationcloseto the lines, and mount the ERIFOXon the watl.
Connect the ertension lines, using single pair cables.Connectthe a) and b)
wire to eachertension terminal which you vill find under the lid.
Eachertensionis marked9,2,3 -- 6. Pleaseobservethat no. 9 is the main
station, and no. 2 is the programmingstation.Theselines should not be
placedoutsideyour premises.Checkthe wiring carefully.
Door phone. If a door phoneis used,always connectthis to ert. no. 6.
Telcfar. If a telefar is usedin auto mode,connectthis to ert. no. 5
D,oor.If a door bell or door lock is connected,pleaseseethe wiring diagrams
below. The electricalconnectionsare locatedunder the lid.
Testing the ertensions.Put the plug into the mainsoutlet,and connect
the telephonesets.(No.2 must alvays be a Tone(DTMF)signallingset).
Test all eltensions by dialing. A dial-tone is heard in every telephoneset.
Connect the erchangeline(s)to the ERIFOX

The progremming station,no. 2 must alwaysbe a DTITIF
telephoneset vith ' and s buttons.
The mein rtrtion no. 9 should always be correspondingto the lype of
you are connectedto. This is becausethe erchanSeline I is
Public ErchanSe
directly connectedto the main station during pover failure. If the Public
Erchangeacceptpulsesignaltingonly, the set must be a pulsedialingtype.
Pleaserefer to the start-up procedurefoc detailedinformation.
The other sets3-6 can be any type. tone or pulse.lt is recommendedto use
pulse signallingtypes if the Public Erchangeacceptpulse only.
Wheneverusingpulsesignallingtelephonesets,the button -l- is usedas
registerrecallto Betaccessto the services.Wheneverthe R-buttonis
requiredfor someservice,dial - l - instead.
In this casesomefeaturesrequiring ' and I is l<lst.
When usingDTMPtelephonesets,it is requiredto have a registerrecall
(-R-button)giving a timed break for Settingaccessto the services.

Blockingand/orrestrictionsmay help you reduce

Telephonesthat are availablefor anybody


may be completelyblockedfrom
makingoutgoingcalls.
The line is disconnectedthe momentone attempts

Restrictions mean that you


may only call-telephone
numberwith cpermittdu
inirialdigits.

The telephonedirectorywill tell you for example


which initialdigits are billed at the local rate,
and you can definethem as permitted.
Or you may permitcalls to other zonesas well.
However,restrictedtelephonesdo not permit long
distancedialling,since 0 is not permitted
as an initialdigit.
At delivery all digits from 1 to 9 are permitted.
This meansthat if you implementrestrictionsfor one
or more telephoneswithoutfirst definingpermitted
initialdigits,these extensionswill only be barredfrom
long distancediallingand will be able to call any
number not requiringa prefix.

Lift the handsetof the main phone and dial 8 *

DOOR BELL
You may connectthe door bell to the telephone
exchange,so that when somebodyrings
the door bell,the telephoneswill givethreeshort
ringingsignals(excepttelephonesthat have had the
ringingsignal"turnedoff").
Telephonesengagedin internalor external
conversationswill not ring.
DOOR TELEPHONE
Extensionnumber 6 may be used as a
door telephone.
Whenyou hearthe door bell signal,dial 6 fromone of
the extensions,and you'll be connectedwith
visitorat the entrancedoor.
