Chan, Amanda L. "Strategy-Based Video Games, Like Starcraft, Improve Brain's 'Cognitive
Flexibility'" The Huffington Post. TheHuffingtonPost.com, n.d. Web. 05 Oct. 2016.
This source focuses on how video games helps brain health, specifically cognitive
flexibility. Playing video games is shown to improve strategic thinking and improve
speed and accuracy of reading skills. This source is a credible source because it was
supported by the U.S. Air Force Office of scientific research. I think this source will be
helpful towards my paper because it focuses primarily on the mental health aspect that
video games have on people.
Https://www.facebook.com/SimsVIP/. "Electronic Arts Is Skipping E3 2016 and Throwing Their
Own Event Instead | SimsVIP." SimsVIP. N.p., 28 Jan. 2016. Web. 05 Oct. 2016.
This source focuses on an event that Electronic Arts now hosts primarily for their gamers
This is not specific to The Sims, but they are present at this event. I think this is a
somewhat credible source because it is directly from the makers of the game, however
2016 was the first year that this expo existed. I think this source is helpful to my paper
because it further supports the idea that a physical community is unnecessary for this
particular game.

Jacklin, Seymour. "The Mental and Physical Side Effects of Computer Game Addiction."
Mindspective:. N.p., 01 Jan. 1970. Web. 05 Oct. 2016.
This source focuses on the more negative aspect of computer games. This one is solely on
the negative mental and physical effects such as addiction, social isolation, and stress.
This source shows that while video games are tons of fun, sometimes they can have
major risk factors This is a credible source because it is based off a mental health a study
done on female and male students. I think this source is overall helpful because it allows
me to present the opposite side of the spectrum of video games which is the negative
side.
Malvaes, Luis. "Video Games and How They Affect Mental, Emotional, and Physical Health."
Prezi.com. N.p., 18 Apr. 2011. Web. 05 Oct. 2016.
In this source the author touches on how video games affect Mental, Physical, and
Emotional health. It is very brief but there are good facts that can be used in my paper to
help give an overview before going more into depth. This is a credible source from
another student who was doing a project on the affect video games has on mental health.
This source is overall helpful for my project because it helps to back up the other aspect
of my paper which focuses on how video games, The Sims in particular, affects human
health.
"Sims Gone Wrong - Story Time!!" Sims Gone Wrong - Story Time!! N.p., n.d. Web. 05 Oct.
2016.
This source focuses on the community surrounding the game The Sims. In this particular
forum it is basically a blog that is designated for players to submit their sim stories. I

think this is a credible source because it is directly from the people who play The Sims.
Im not exactly sure if this source will be helpful towards my paper because it shows that
there is some kind of a community surrounding the game, however it supports that there
isnt really a community necessary for these player to come together.
