PART A: Describe how students could create and publish an original movie, audio file, podcast, or vodcast in order to
achieve required learning standards. Challenge: For an A provide an idea where the learning activity reaches a LoTi
level 4a or above. To do this you will have to design a project where students engage in higher-order thinking and publish
their work to an audience that will use or care about the results. Broad feedback for their work is also a great way to
boost interest and performance.
Students can create an original movie to show understanding of a standard or lesson taught for their grade level. Students can use
media to retell events and show comprehension of lessons. This can be used as a presentation style to any research or lesson.
Students can design a project where they are creating a video analyzing certain topic, such as the September 11. The movie can
consist of their thoughts and higher order thinking, such as what would they do in this situation?

SS5H7 Trace important developments in America from 1975 to 2001 b. Describe the events of September 11, 2001, and
analyze their impact on American life.
Brief Description of Learning Experience: As you address the standards, what will students and teachers do? How will
the project be introduced? How long will it take to complete? What audience will use/care about the multimedia projects
students are creating? How broad is this audience? How will student work be assessed and by whom? Who will provide
feedback to students about their work? (Overview should be approximately 1-2 paragraphs)
Students will view a video on the attack of the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001. I have created a movie to show the tragedy
people faced during this event and the outcome of the terrorist attack. Students will then create their own video with a collection
of interviews of family members who lived through this time. The students will ask questions and gather information about how
this event affect their lives as an American or personally. Students can also use higher order thinking by analyzing the situation
and give ideas of what they would do during a situation like this. Students can also express how this attack makes them feel.
Student Engagement/Higher-Order Thinking: What LoTi level would this lesson be and Why?
This lesson would be a LoTi level 4 because students are choosing the questions they will likw to ask during the interview.
They are also choosing who they want to interview.
Importance of technology: Why is using a multimedia authoring tools critical to the project? Could the project be
completed without this technology? What would be lost without using it? What other types of technology, if any, are
going to be used in the learning experience?
Although the project can be done without technology, the emotions of the students can be lost through text. The media makes the
project more inviting an intense. Video is the best way to capture an emotional reaction or collaborate students ideas in one
media.
Inspiration (optional): If you used existing multimedia projects as a model for your project (whether in part or whole),
include the URL(s) so we can visit. Explain what concepts you borrowed from others.

Internet Safety and Student Privacy: Briefly discuss some possible issues surrounding internet safety and student
privacy that could arise while implementing this learning experience and explain how youd minimize risks to
students/yourself, alleviate any fears by parents/administrators, and follow school districts Internet Safety/Use Policy.
Students must be careful to not post any personal information on the internet. The students must follow all website guidelines
which will be discussed by me before lesson. I will minimize these risk by monitoring all internet activity.
