MULTI-MEDIA AUTHORING TEMPLATE

PART A: Describe how students could create and publish an original movie, audio file, podcast, or vodcast
in order to achieve required learning standards. Challenge: For an A provide an idea where the learning
activity reaches a LoTi level 4a or above. To do this you will have to design a project where students
engage in higher-order thinking and publish their work to an audience that will use or care about the
results. Broad feedback for their work is also a great way to boost interest and performance.

Content Area/Grade/Standards/Topics Addressed: SS2H1 Describe the lives and contributions of

Brief Description of Learning Experience: I will introduce this standard by allowing the students to see the
video created by me on Movie Maker. I create my video on Martin Luther King and The Civil Rights
Movement. The students will have the opportunity to watch and brainstorm for ideas. The video is 3
minutes and students will be able to create a video of their own based on the standard& and that should
take about 2-3 days. The audience would be those in the school, parents, schoolmates, and other faculty
members. The audience would be those who has access to see them in the class or on the classroom
blog. Students work would be assessed by the teacher and it will be done by checking in while they are
doing it after modeling and guiding& and seeing the Final Product
Student Engagement/Higher-Order Thinking: The LoTi level would be at a 5 because students are creating
something based on a standard being discussed in class and they are also presenting it to a larger
audience/

Importance of technology: Using a multimedia authoring tools is critical to the project because students
are creating a video. This project could not be done without the technology. The thing that would be
lost would be the videos added and the music. No other technology would be used for this project.

part or whole), include the URL(s) so we can visit. Explain what concepts you borrowed from others.

Internet Safety and Student Privacy: There are safety issues that may occur would be students going to
wrong websites and going to wrong videos while searching for things to go in there video. I would have
several images and videos for students to choose from already put into Movie Maker that I will have
looked at before class so that they have no access to looking on the internet.
