Describe how you would use the Online Project/Collaboration Site/Publishing
Opportunity in your classroom:
I would use this collaboration site in my classroom by having my students post their text written
to kidpub.com. The students will fulfil the standard above, then publish to kidpub.com to receive
feedback from other students and teachers. This online collaboration site also allows for the
students to publish their work in a safe environment.
What technologies would be required to implement this proposed learning activity in a
classroom?
The students would need some form of technology, most likely a computer or laptop to type their
informative/ explanatory text, then post it to kidpub.com.
Describe how the following features are addressed in this learning experience:
a. Kidpub.com allows for students and teachers to comment on work submitted by
other students and teachers. Therefore, feedback can be given and improvements
can be made from the collaboration with others outside of their school.
b. This is a student-centered learning because the students are creating their
informative/ explanatory text and publishing their work to kidpub.com. The result
of their work will be original.
c. The students will be exposed to higher order thinking when teachers or other
students comment and ask questions about their published work. Most likely the
students will have to think in depth about their replies.

What Level of Technology Implementation best describes this learning activity and Why?
This is a LoTi level 4 learning activity. This is because the students are assuming the roles of
writers and are publishing their work to in order for others to view it. The teacher also takes a
step back in this activity and the students and the people they collaborate with online are the
facilitators.
How could you implement this proposed learning experience and still comply with your
districts Internet Safety and Student Privacy policies?
Kidpub.com is a safe and secure online environment for students, therefore if the students have
been authorized to use the Internet and publish their work online the proposed learning
experience complies with most districts Internet Safety and Student Privacy Act.
