Title
The Spanish American War as seen by Cubans
Introduction
The Spanish American War as seen by Cubans purpose was to explain and go in to a deeper
detail on how Cubans were freed from the Spanish by the United States and how Cubans were
treated and how they lived during the Spanish American War. The Main point of this subject is to
focus on how Cubans were treated and the conditions in what they lived during the Spanish
American War and how they were freed from the Spanish. This war was very significant for
Cubans because Cubans gained their independence and the U.S. emerged as a world power.
During the Spanish American war Cubans were being oppressed and depicted through inhumane
treatment, such as rape, torture and mass pillaging by the Spanish. The United States decided to
intervene in this situation by fighting and winning the war against the Spanish. The United States
gained Cubans independence.
Current Situation
The problem of the Spanish American War was the demands by the Cubans for independence
from Spanish. There were many problems that caused this war, such as, the Cuban rebellion
against Spain, American desire to protect its investments in Cuba and the yellow journalism
intensified public anger at Spain. The effects of the Spanish American war were that the
Americans aboard the Olympia prepare to fire on the Spanish ships, Cuba received its
independence and many men died.
Project plan
The major step of the Spanish American War was that the United States gained Cubans
independence and the U.S. emerged as the world power. The minor step of this war was that the
United States fought the Spanish for another reason and that was to protect its investments in
Cuba. The deliverables of this paper is that it will help individuals to gain more knowledge about
this topic and understand the reasons of why Cubans wanted their independence.
