Compare and contrast Shang and Han dynasty

The ancient china start with Shang dynasty. The Xia dynasty is consider as a myth, because it
have no evidence, so Shang dynasty is the first dynasty in the ancient china in started in 1500 BC1100 BC, follow by Zhou dynasty 1028 BC-256 BC, Qin dynasty 221 BC-210 BC and lastly Han
dynasty 207 BC-220 AD. I noticed that Shang dynasty and Han dynasty took 400 years the same
before it last, so I will compare and contrast between these two dynasties.

The Shang dynasty is start from 1500 BC 1100 BC. It is at Bronze Age. The capital city is
Chang Zhou. The king name Cheng Tang. He is a strong monarchy. Most of the population were
peasant farmers. In Shang dynasty there is god name Shang Di. He is a natural sources god. In this
dynasty they believe in a Yin and Yang, it is the balance of the university. Yin is black which represent
the dark side and Yang is white which represent the good side. They also believed in the Ancestor
Worship. It is went you burn somethings to the death people to make them have happy afterlife, if
they dont do this they think that it will cause the natural disaster. The most achievement is the
Writing System which is called the Oracle Bones. The Oracle Bones also use to predict future by the
bones is made from the tortoiseshell. They took the tortoiseshell, then break it and see the pattern to
predict the future. They also advances in using bronze and make weapon with it like bronze spear.
They built huge tomb structure and they create calendar and the money system. It last for 400 years.
Then the Zhou invade and established new ruling dynasty. The Zhou dynasty.

The Han dynasty is start from 207 BC 220 AD. It is at Golden Age. The capital city is
Chang'an. The king name Wudi. The Han dynasty is also called the Pax SinicaIn which mean Chinese
peace. This dynasty there were many invention such as reorganized finances, built Silk Road that it is
now a trading route that use to linking China and West. They built the store house which know as
granary. They imposed a government monopoly on iron and salt products. They built canals and road
for transportation. They develop the Civil Service Exam that use to qualified official, so they relied on
well-educated scholars to run the government. They discovered many things about education such as
in science they wrote many texts on chemistry, zoology, and botany, measured movements of stars
and planets, invented seismograph to measure earthquakes. In medical they can diagnosed diseases,
used herbal remedies and other drugs for treatments, developed anesthetics and the use of
acupuncture. In technology they made paper out of wood pulp, invented the rudder, fishing reels,
wheelbarrows, and suspension bridges, pioneered advanced methods of shipbuilding. In art they built
grand temples and palaces, produced jade and ivory carvings and ceramic figures. Jade is mostly use
to trading in the Silk Road. They improved bronze working and silk making techniques. After Han
dynasty end, China is separated into three kingdom

In conclusion, Shang and Han dynasty last for 400 years the same, but I think that Han is
more civilize than Shang because Han discovered many things in science, technology, medical and
art, but in Shang they still believe in the afterlife, the god and prediction which usually unreal and
untouchable unlike in education terms. The education can use to develop and make the dynasty
become civilize and it can use to continue in the next dynasty.
