I took 20th Century Art I as a requirement for the Art Therapy program. This class also falls under the Artistic Expression for Multiple Modes of Inquiry in the learning objectives. This course gives students the ability to look at art in a more understanding way and relate it to the history of its time. The class also gives information of artists and their lives. Through this class I was able to locate and analyze expressive media to gain information and comprehend the significance of issues and events. We focused on current issues by first looking at current issues of the past by investigating the world of art. One assignment in particular had us reenact a time period while playing the parts of artist, curators and art dealers of the time. We had to research and present the ideas of our assigned character and play situations out in class. This assignment gave me experience in being able to organize and manage resources in a creative way to achieve impact. By finding a creative way to gain research and present our findings we were able to understand on a different level.
