The Word/Concept

social deviance

The Meaning: in the


dictionary and your
own words

it is described as the action or behavior that, violates


social norms, including a formally enacted rule as well as
informal violations of social norms.
In other words acting out of what is socially accepted in
todays society.
The study of social deviance is the study of the violation
of cultural norms that has existed in either formal or
informal contexts, (OC pg ).
