Medio ambiente

El medio ambiente es el conjunto de todas las cosas vivas que nos rodean.
De ste obtenemos agua, comida, combustibles y materias primas que
sirven para fabricar las cosas que utilizamos diariamente.
Al abusar o hacer mal uso de los recursos naturales que se obtienen del
medio ambiente, lo ponemos en peligro y lo agotamos. El aire y el agua
estn contaminndose, los bosques estn desapareciendo, debido a los
incendios y a la explotacin excesiva y los animales se van extinguiendo por
el exceso de la caza y de la pesca.
Debido a esto, la ONU busca lograr el "desarrollo sostenible". Este concepto
quiere decir el lograr el mayor desarrollo de los pueblos sin poner en peligro
hecho del medio ambiente. Para ello se cre, en 1972, el Programa de las
Naciones Unidas sobre el Medio ambiente (PNUMA), que se encarga de
promover actividades medioambientales y crear conciencia entre la
poblacin sobre la importancia de cuidar el medio ambiente.
Con el fin de preservar el medio ambiente de la Tierra, que es "la casa
mayor de todos los seres humanos", la Organizacin de las Naciones Unidas
trabaja con intensidad para lograr acuerdos internacionales que ayuden a
preservar y respetar el medio ambiente, como el mejor legado o herencia
que los adultos puede dejar a los nios.
As, en 1992, la ONU celebr la "Cumbre para la Tierra", en la cual se adopt
el "Programa 21", que es un plan de accin que explica las medidas para
lograr un desarrollo sostenible. Ms de 1,800 ciudades del mundo han hecho
su propio programa 21 local, basndose en el que se adopt en la Cumbre
para la Tierra. En esta Cumbre, tambin:

Se definieron los derechos y deberes de los Estados en materia de

medio ambiente
Se abordaron las cuestiones relacionadas con:
La proteccin de los bosques
El cambio climtico y la diversidad biolgica
Las poblaciones de peces migratorias
La desertificacin
El desarrollo sostenible de los Estados Insulares (islas).

En 1997, tuvo lugar la "Cumbre de Ro+5", que tena como principal objetivo
analizar la ejecucin del "Programa 21", aprobado en la Cumbre de 1992. En
la Cumbre de 1997 se obtuvieron diversos acuerdos que se plasmaron en el
documento final de la sesin.

Environment.

among the population about the importance of caring for the environment.
In order to preserve the environment of the Earth, which is "the House most
of all human beings", the United Nations works with intensity to achieve
international agreements that help to preserve and respect the
environment, such as the best legacy and heritage than adults can leave
children.
Thus, in 1992, the UN held "For the Earth Summit", which adopted the
"Agenda 21", which is an action plan that explains the measures to achieve
sustainable development. More than 1,800 cities in the world have their own
Agenda 21 local, based on which was adopted at the Earth Summit. At this
Summit, also: defined the rights and duties of States in the field of
Environment Committee addressed issues related to:

The protection of forests.

The climate change and biological diversity.
Migratory fish stocks.
Desertification.

The sustainable development of island States (Islands).

In 1997, took place the "River 5 Summit', which had as its main objective,
considering the implementation of "Agenda 21", approved at the Summit of

1992. At the Summit in 1997 were obtained various agreements that

resulted in the final document of the session.
