ACTIVITY 1: WARM-UP
AIM: to encourage and provide a comfortable environment
INTERACTION: T-S, S-S
PROCEDURE: T announces that the class is going to establish a new record: they are
going to pass a small piece of paper kept at the end of a straw ( by inspiring continuously)
from the first s to the last one.
The activity is performed twice if the first time is a failure.

ACTIVITY 3: VOCABULARY
AIM: to aquire new words and expressions
INTERACTION:T-S, GW
PROCEDURE: groups are asked to match words and expressions with their definitions:
contestant, lean, break a record, bucket, brush, look for. They write them in their
notebooks.

ACTIVITY 2 : REINFORCEMENT AND ANNOUNCING THE TOPIC
AIM: to reinforce ss for the next sketch
INTERACTION: GW

PROCEDURE: two groups perform the previous plays and the teacher announces the
topic: a mime game, finding new information about human world records, listening to the
new sketch, getting the roles, practising and performing

ACTIVITY 3: MIMING GAME
AIM: to introduce the theme of the play
INTERACTION: T-S, S-S
PROCEDURE: The T presents some strange human world records: eating 50 eggs,
walking with a milk bottle on ones head, etc.
Some volunteers are asked to mime the world records on the cards and after their
classmates guess, they provide further information: who, what, where, when.
Estimated time: 10 min
ACTIVITY 4: LISTENING TO THE NEW SKETCH
AIM: to give clues about the performance
INTERACTION: T-S, GW
PROCEDURE: the T makes groups of 5 ss and hands a copy of the script to each s.
While reading the script, the T plays the cassette. Students decide roles and change
characters names if necessary.

ACTIVITY 5: GETTING READY FOR THE PERFORMANCE!- feedback
AIM: to perform the play and choose the best performers
INTERACTION: T-S, GW
PROCEDURE: groups are practising and some of them are asked to perform in front of
the class. The best performances are selected for the final casting.

ACTIVITY 6: HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT
Students are to practise for final evaluation.
