Risk

Suitable working oil resistant gloves to be used along with

full sleeve coveralls. Mechanical means to be utilized in
lifting and placing the oil drums to minimize manual
handling as far as reasonably practicable.
Any lift above 25 kg to be avoided for a single person.
All operatives will be trained in the correct and
safe manual handling techniques.
Weights will be kept to safe levels as far as
reasonably practicable. Heavy loads will be
broken down if possible.

Ensure full compliance to GPIC permit to work and isolation

system.
The power will be isolated before any connection
or maintenance work begins.
Operatives will be experienced and competent
on working with electrical.

All ladders used for working at height will be maintained in

a good working condition
If ladders are to be used they will be securely
footed and where possible, tied on. 3
Area is segregated to ensure no person is within

Hazard

All portable and non portable electrical equipment shall be

inspected by GPIC electrical section with suitable ID tag.
Suitable hand and eyes protection to be provided. Always
use best practices to loosen or tighten couplings to avoid
hand injuries. All tools are visually inspected before use .
Operatives are responsible to keep tools in good
condition and report any defects. Faulty tools will
be replaced .
Competent users
Specific equipment/tools are only used by
competent users, e.g. Hiab

Person in charge describes all the conditions of the permit

to the workers
Workers indicate they clearly understand the permit
conditions and sign onto the permit

Inspect scaffolding for damaged / missing components

Inspect ground for stable footings and level off the work
platform
All equipment to be placed within authorized cordoned off
area, not blocking any critical or emergency equipment and
suitable safety signs to be placed.
Ensure work is correctly and
clearly identified. Comply with permit conditions
