At this level, the student can process, understand, produce, or us:

expanded sentences in oral interaction or written paragraphs
Follow multi-step oral directions
Identify illustrated main ideas from paragraph-level oral discourse
Match literal meanings of oral descriptions or oral reading to illustrations
Sequence pictures from oral stories, processes or procedures
History SOL 1.6 The student will describe how the location of his/her community, climate, and
physical surroundings affect the way people live, including their food, clothing, shelter,
transportation, and recreation.
Selective Listening
Purpose: Students will demonstrate listening ability by classifying objects according to
descriptive oral statements about community and physical surroundings, specifically testing to
see if Students can classify objects according to descriptive oral statements and Students can
infer situations using the visual representation and listening skills.
Directions: Look at the picture below. Listen to the groups of sentences and circle the letter
that is true about the picture.

Example:
Students hear: A. The bench is to the left of the jewelry shop.
B. The bench is to the right of the jewelry shop.
C. The bench is behind the jewelry shop.
Assessment items:
