What are two or three main things you want them to learn
from your lesson, WRITTEN AS MEASUREABLE OBJECTIVES
Today the students will be able to:
-definition of a slope
-how to find a slope
-what the slopes of a vertical line and a horizontal line
always are
How will you link the new materials to prior learning? I will
tie in what they already know to this lesson. I will also use a
warm-up question to review what they already know and
have that lead into this lesson
What will students do? The students will be taking notes
and working on a worksheet in groups of 2 to review what
we had just learned.
How long will be spent on each part (timing)? I will spend
about 5 minutes on the warm-up, 15 minutes on notes, 10
minutes on questions, and the remaining 15 minutes on the
worksheet activity.
Will all students be doing the same thing? Yes unless some
students have more questions. Those students will be
working with me more while the others are working on the
worksheet.
How will you know if students understand the content
objectives? Throughout the lesson I will continuously ask
them if they are caught up and understand everything that
Im going through. I will also, at the end of the note-taking,
have them put a number up from 1-5 to show how well they
understand the lesson.
When will assessment occur? Throughout and after note
taking.
How will you get the students attention? I will start with a
warm-up.
How are you going to teach this lesson?
-Introduction/transitions
-Teacher talking
-Questioning
-Student interactions
