Personal Goal Statement
Personal/Professional Goals
I am interested in earning my graduate degree in Human Services Administration to
further my qualifications as a counselor in the field. To obtain a master degree in Human
Services would open the opportunities for me to obtain certification to work in public and
or private arena. The influences that have led to the chosen field of study have primarily
been through work experience dealing with all levels of individuals who have a variety of
barriers in life that may have been blocked. Such examples include: mental health,
shaded areas of abuse (substance, verbal, & physical), education, and communication.
While this experience has been extremely rewarding, I am particularly interested in the
areas of management/ human resources as I have enjoyed teaching, training, researching
and resolving issues/resolutions. Working in these capacities has opened my curiosity to
develop the skill further through program planning, organization and management,
delivering exceptional personalized service to a specialized caseload and staff
supervision, training and evaluation.
Research Experience
At this time there is no prior research experience to include under this section.
Work/Other Experience
Included in this e-portfolio as submitted will be a resume discussing my previous work
experience which has opened a window of opportunity to experience volunteer and or
extracurricular activities in the community. Such experiences included the following: Job
Fairs, Volunteering in a rally for the Homeless at the New Jersey State Building,
volunteering at a Camden City, New Jersey-Community Family Day being a participant
as a representative for Housing & Supportive Services through employment with
Volunteers of America Delaware Valley/Trenton-Mercer and Philadelphia County and
lastly with my current employer participating in a family fun day with parents (games,
food, and activities). Under the careful supervision of senior management and staff

coordinated events for formerly homeless individuals with a history of substance and or
mental health. Developed a diverse range of innovative customer focused programs to
lead a small team to achieve excellent customer needs assessments and service delivery.
Also, I was very active with maintaining a relationship with property managers to address
the concerns of formerly homeless individuals.
Personal Qualities
Personal qualities that I believe will contribute to the success of my personal/professional
growth include the following: Quality Assurance, Environmental/Safety, Coaching Skills
for Managers and Supervisors, Automatic Data Processing Payroll System, The
Cambridge Don Talent Chaser Performance Management System,
How to Supervise Staff in Residential Programs-Staff Training Associates, Human
Resource Documentation Training, Certificate of Recognition for Professionalism,
Ethics, Confidentiality, and Conflict of Interest, and Coordinating presentations for front
line and professional staff
