Who knew that a small squared flat object will hold so much
information on it, books, songs, and pictures, little did we
know that technology would reach our classrooms to the level
that we cant have a class without it. 20 years ago when a
student had a doubt and the teacher didnt know about it, the
teacher had to ask or go to a library and would try to find the
answer, nowadays the teacher takes her/his phone or table
and simply types the question on a search engine, hows that
for effectivity?. It is not subversive that nowadays education is
changing; many things change, teachers, society, Education,
schools; everything around us grows inside a technology
society. Education is the base of our values, is where most of
us learn our life lessons, where we live most of our childhood
anecdotes. Is sad to say that students are losing interest in
school, students seem to be dull and they are getting more
interested in technology based games, phones, and
computers. Its not a surprise that many schools in the U.S
and all around the world are adopting a new way of teaching,
a new way that should be the answer to many questions
about education. Countries like India, the U.S.A and even
Mexico are implementing tablet computers in the classrooms.
But , Should tablets be used in classrooms? Does the use of
tablets rise the percentage of learning in a classrooms?
Should tablets replace textbooks? How should teachers work

together with tablets? What kind of activities should be tablet

friendly?

Using tablets is not something new, the technology movement
has being around for a few years, it all started with the
integration of computer labs in schools, then with projectors
giving the teachers more gears, many programs used by
teachers are virtual, this made the educational community be
aware of the treasure that they were holding on their hands.
Many teachers use technology everyday on their classes,
using videos, diagrams, audios, songs, it is no secret that the
internet has increased the effectivity of exploring a topic,
when used right technology is at the top of the teachers tools
list. Tablets should be used in classrooms to increase the
knowledge of students on technology and the topics seen
every day in a classroom. Countries like the U.S.A are using
tablets, e-books, and online platforms to increase childrens
productivity on the classroom. That is the case of L.A unified
school district the second largest school district in the U.S
recently spent $30 million dollars to deliver 35,000 iPads to

In conclusion, having an iPad or tablet in our class doesnt
necessarily mean that students are going to learn, learning
comes with time and dedication, it is a fact though that some
students do better with tablets, that is because they do better
learning on their own and follow at their own pace. It is also
accurate to say that having tablets mean a lot of more trouble

them. Broken and technical failures are problems for teachers
all the time, but both can be solved, but it takes time to do so,
If a teacher has one of the two difficulties the teacher will
need an extra lesson plan tablet free this means more work
for the teacher. A school district that is planning to include this
program on their schools should be well prepared, and have
an open mind to receive both, positive outcomes and negative
results. In the end, the risk might be worth, if the
implementation of tablets will benefit our students in the long
run. So when it comes to technology and teaching the two
items can be mixed; when the teachers are trained, when the
school district is serious about it, students use them strictly,
and when the actual plan about using them is accurate.
